Tonight Malta held its national final and decided which of 16 hopefuls will represent the nation in the upcoming Junior Eurovision 2022.
16 acts were:
- Emma Kate Formosa – “Bounce”
- Naomi Busuttil – “Little Cheeky”
- Cassidy Gauci – “Light Up”
- Kaylyn Mallia – “Here I Am”
- Aaliyah Cassar – “Infinity”
- Cesca Galea – “See the Invisible”
- Isis Jade Miller – “Unbreakable”
- Shanzay Mangion – “Heartbeat”
- Geneve Dimech – “With You By My Side”
- Ma Girlz – “Stereo”
- Kensley Ciappara – “Tliet Xadini” (Three monkeys)
- Charelle Micallef – “The Extra Miles”
- Andrea Camilleri – “Spark”
- Rih and Bri – “Karma”
- Kayleen Mercicea – “Shooting Star”
- Gaia Gambuzza – “Diamonds in the Skies”
Ryan and Josman hosted the national selection.
The final results were decided by a jury (75%) and public voting (25%). Only the top 3 were revealed.
The top 3 were:
- 1.Gaia Gambuzza – “Diamonds in the Skies”
- 2.Andrea Camilleri – “Spark”
- 3.Emma Kate Formosa – “Bounce”
Gaia Gambuzza will represent Malta with the song “Diamonds in the Skies” at Junior Eurovision 2022.
Ike & Kaja represented Malta at Junior Eurovision 2021 with the song ‘My Home”.They came in 12th place in the grand final with 97 points.
