Albania: The Public Will Select Eurovision 2023 Entry

Just yesterday, we received the list of candidates to compete at “Festivali i Këngës 61”:

The list includes 16 established artists (that have already participated in the former editions of the festival), alongside 10 newcomers (young artists and alternative bands):

According to the Albanian broadcaster RTSH, this year we get a brand formula for the festival’s results and to determine the Albanian representative for Eurovision

Public Vote

For the first time since 2016, the public will be involved in the festival’s results.
However, the public has had little weight on the results in the past.
This year, the Albanian representative for Eurovision will be selected by 100% public vote (via SMS)

Professional Jury

The jury will determine the festival’s results and will grant the main awards:

Note: The festival winner (awarded by jury) won’t necessarily be the Albanian representative for Eurovision 2023.

“Festivali i Këngës 61” will be held in the mid-end of December 2022.
Arbana Osmani and Eduart Girshay will be in charge of organizing the festival this year.

Ronela Hajati represented Albania at Eurovision 2022 with the song “Sekret”.
She finished in 12th place in semi-final 1 and unfortunately didn’t make it to the final

Who will be the Albanian artist to defend the colors of the Albanian flag at Eurovision 2023?
Will we get a new direction for Eurovision?
How far will the jury result from the public’s choice?
