Today, we will able to watch the Eurovision 2024 semi-final allocation draw, as part of the Host City Insignia Exchange ceremony.

Format

Pernilla Månsson Colt and Farah Abadi will host the ceremony.
The ceremony will also include the Host City Insignia Exchange.
Liverpool will give Malmö the symbol of the host city.
The Mayor of the 2023 Host City, Steve Rotheram, will hand over the official keys to the Eurovision Song Contest, known as the “Insignia“, to the Mayor of MalmöKatrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh

The EBU has built 5 pots of the 31 countries that participate in the semi-finals.
The pots were based on on historical voting patterns as calculated by the contest’s official televoting partner Digame

Each pot will include 6-7 countries.
From each pot, half of the countries will be allocated in the first semi-final and the remaining countries will be allocated in the second semi-final.

The pots for Eurovision 2024 are:

  2. Austria
  3. Croatia
  4. Slovenia
  5. Serbia
  6. Switzerland

Pot 2

  1. Australia
  2. Denmark
  3. Estonia
  4. Finland
  5. Iceland
  6. Norway

Pot 3

  1. Armenia
  2. Azerbaijan
  3. Georgia
  4. Israel
  5. Latvia
  6. Lithuania
  7. Ukraine

Pot 4

  1. Greece
  2. Cyprus
  3. Ireland
  4. Malta
  5. San Marino
  6. Portugal

Pot 5

  1. Belgium
  2. Czech Republic
  3. The Netherlands
  4. Moldova
  5. Luxembourg
  6. Poland

The 6th pot includes the automatic qualifiers:

  1. Sweden (Eurovision 2024 host country)
  2. United Kingdom
  3. France
  4. Italy
  5. Germany
  6. Spain

For the automatic qualifiers, half of them will vote (and broadcast) in the first semi-final, and the other half will vote (and broadcast) in the second semi-final.


Eurovision 2024 will be held in Malmö, Sweden.
The semi-finals will be held on the 7th and 9th of May 2024, and the grand final will be held on the 11th of May 2024
