Last Sunday, Israeli broadcaster Kan closed the submission window for songs for Eurovision 2024.
On the 6th of February, Israel held the final of “The Rising Star For Eurovision 2024” (“Hakochan Haba La’Eurovision 2024).
Eden Golan was announced as the winner, topping both the public and the jury vote.
The professional committee listened to the submitted songs and narrowed down the list to 2 songs only!
However, the committee members haven’t reached the final decision, and therefore will hold another meeting on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Eden was sent to the studio where she worked on the 2 final songs. The committee will listen to them once again and hopefully make the decision
Based on the report that has been made by Israeli outlet YNET, Kan has sent the lyrics of the 2 songs to the EBU to get general approval for the concept, message and lyrics.
In contrast to what has been wrongly reported on different media channels, the EBU hasn’t responded yet and hasn’t rejected any of the 2 songs.
It is important to clarify that each country has to get EBU’s official approval before announcing a song for Eurovision (the same applied for Spain with the song title “Zora“)
