Eden Golan won the final of “The Rising Star For Eurovision 2024” (“Hakochav Haba La’Eurovision 2024).
So she is set to represent the country at Eurovision 2024.
The song for Eurovision 2024 was finally selected, due to the decision of the professional committee.
The group behind the song is Keren Peles, Avi Ohayon and Stav Beger.
The song that reached to the 2nd place is “Dance Forever” which was written by May Sfadia, Yinon Yahel and Eden Golan
Israeli broadcaster Kan held several discussion with the EBU to agree on the selected song and make sure it is aligned with the EBU regulations.
The central conflict came across the lyrics of the song, as the EBU wanted to make sure they don’t convey any political message.

A few minutes ago, Kan released an official statement, where they related to the hot topic.
Kan has decided to modify the lyrics of the 2 potential songs, to guarantee Israel participation in Eurovision 2024:
The Israel national broadcaster has been working in recent weeks to take the necessary steps to allow Israel to participate in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Despite disagreeing with the position of the EBU, which sought to disqualify the two songs submitted by Israel to the contest – on the grounds that they “carry a political character,” “Kan” adopted the advice of the country’s president, Yitzhak Herzog, who turned to the corporation’s board and offered to make the necessary adjustments, which would allow the Representing Israel on the Eurovision stage.
The President of the country emphasized that precisely at a time when our haters seek to push and boycott the State of Israel from every platform – Israel must raise its voice with genius and head held high and raise its flag in every world forum and especially this year.
The corporation contacted the creators of the two selected songs, “October Rain” which was chosen in first place and the song “Dance Forever” which came in second place, and asked to readjust the texts, while preserving full artistic freedom. From the new texts – the corporation will choose the song that will be sent to the Eurovision supervising committee, so that it will approve Israel’s participation in the contest.
The Israeli song for Eurovision 2024 will undergo some lyrics changes and thereafter will be officially submitted to the EBU.
The song will be revealed in a special show on Kan11, on Sunday the 10th of March 2024, at 21:30 local time (20:30 CET).

Eurovision 2024 will be held in Malmö, Sweden.
The semi-finals will be held on the 7th and 9th of May 2024, and the grand final will be held on the 11th of May 2024.
Israel will compete in the second half of semi-final 2.
