Following Winning Eurovision 2024, Switzerland starts the early preparations for Eurovision 2025.
The process of selecting a host city involved an official bidding, which is monitored by the national broadcaster of the host country with the EBU.
Swiss broadcaster SRF SSG aims to select the host city by September 2024.
A city would have to meet numerous conditions to be able to realize the ESC: including sufficiently large halls, sufficient accommodation, public transportation availability and etc
So far, 4 cities have expressed interest entering the bid:
Zürich
- It is the largest city in Switzerland, located in north-central Switzerland, and the capital of the canton of Zürich.
- The Hallenstadion Arena located in the city has a capacity of 11,200 spectators.
- Another option is the Swiss Life Arena, with a capacity of 12,000 spectators.
Geneva
- Geneva is the second-most populous city in Switzerland, located in southwest of the country. It is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva.
- The St. Jakob Arena is a quite small one with 6,600 seats only.
- The Arena Genève is located in the city and suggests a capacity of 9,500 seats
Basel
- Basel is the third-most-populous city is Switzerland, located in northwestern Switzerland.

- Another option is St. Jakobshalle (in Münchenstein, near Basel) and suggests a capacity of 12,400 seats.
St. Gallen
- The city is located in the center of Eastern Switzerland.
- The New Olma Hall, which was inaugurated at the beginning of March, offers space for up to 12,000 people.
Nemo represented Switzerland at Eurovision 2024 with the song “The Code”.
They finished in first place with 591 points
