Last July, The UK national broadcaster BBC, confirmed the country will participate in Eurovision 2025.
Earlier today, the BBC spanned its plans for Eurovision 2025.
As for the upcoming Eurovision edition, BBC and BBC studios will collaborate to select the artist and the song for Eurovision 2025.
As in the recent years, the UK will select its Eurovision act internally.
The project is led by 2 persons: David May and Andrew Cartmell.
In fact, the BBC has spent recent months finding potential acts to represent the country in Basel.
The UK record Labels, Publishers, Songwriters, BBC Music, and BBC Introducing have all been involved in the process.
The song for Eurovision 2025 will be released in March 2025.
David May was Sam Ryder’s manager during the Eurovision 2022 selection process.
He started his way as a singer-songwriter and later on, developed his career as a music manager and company founder. He brings to the table over 17 years of experience.
Andrew Cartmell is the Executive Producer of BBC Studios
David May commented:
I’m excited to be working with BBC Studios and the BBC on this journey. We’re seeking talent and a song that embodies the essence of UK music. We want to collaborate with an authentic act who has a genuine, heartfelt story to tell, and an unmatched vocal tonality and range. Ultimately we’re looking for a powerful three-minute performance that resonates with and moves audiences across Europe and beyond
