As always, Sweden will hold “Melodifestivalen” as the national final, to select both the artist and the song for Eurovision.
Swedish outlets Aftonbladet and Expressen revealed the names of 10 artists who are likely to participate in “Melodifestivalen 2025″.
As a disclaimer, we will once again clarify that these are rumors, and not an official release

“Melodifestivalen 2025” Rumored Artists
#1. Annika Wickihalder
Annika first competed in “Melodifestivalen 2024” with the gospel ballad “Light“.
She ended 8th in the final.
#2. Tennessee Tears
Tennessee Tears, consisting of Jonas Hermansson and Tilda Feuk, is a Swedish country duo. In 2023, they competed in “Melodifestivalen” with “Now I Know”
#3. Maja Ivarsson
Maja Ivarsson is a 45 year-old Swedish indie-rock singer, who has been active since 1994.
She is the lead singer of the indie rock band “The Sounds”.
She made her name both in Sweden and in the USA.
According to the rumours, she is about to make her “Melodifestivalen” debut in 2025.
#4. Meira Omar
32 year-old Meira Omar is also expected to make her debut in “Melodifestivalen” in 2025. She became known following her participation in “Love is Blind”, where she met her husband Oskar Nordstrand.
Previously, she participated in Bollywood as an actress and released several entries.
#5.Björn Holmgren
Björn Holmgren is TikTok star.
He is a 28 year-old singer who rose to prominence in 2022, when releasing the song “Ut med allt” (Eng: Out With Everything).
According to Aftonbladet, he will make his debut in “Melodifestivalen” this year.
#6. Angelino
Angelino made his “Melodifestivalen” debut in 2022 with “The End”.
Back then, he ended up in the heats, placing 5th.
The 26 year-old is expected to try his luck once again.
#7. Kristofer Greczula
32 year-old Kristofer Greczula has previously appeared in the Grammies Gala and “Allsång på Skansen”.
In 2021, he released the song “Leaving You for Another”:

KAJ is a Finnish-Swedish comedy group who consists of 3 members: Kevin Holmström,
Axel Åhman and Jakob Norrgård.
They have released 7 albums to date.

#9. Arwin Ismail
Arwin is expected to be one of the youngest participants in “Melodifestivalen 2025”.
He is 16 year-old, who is also active on TikTok.
In 2023, he released his debut single, “More Than Just A Feeling”:

“Melodifestivalen 2025” – Known Details
- The professional committee will shortlist 30 songs to compete in the live shows. Some of them will be chosen from the applications, while others from artists who have received invitations from SVT.
- The selection will feature 5 semi-final and a grand final:
- Semi-Final 1: Saturday 1st of February 2025, Luleå (Coop Norrbotten Arena)
- Semi-Final 2: Saturday 8th of February 2025, Gothenburg (Scandinavium)
- Semi-Final 3: Saturday 15th of February 2025, Västerås (Västerås Arena)
- Semi-Final 4: Saturday 22nd of February 2025, Malmö (Malmö Arena)
- Semi-Final 5: Saturday 1st of March 2025, Jönköping (Husqvarna Garden)
- Final: Saturday 8th of March 2025, Stockholm (Strawberry Arena)
- 6 artists will take part in each semi-final. The top 2 will qualify for the final.
- Unlike previous editions, the songs will be released one day before each semi-final (and not just snippets!)
- The artists who will finish in the 4th, 5th and 6th place (in each semi-final) will be eliminated.
- At the end of the 5th semi-final,
- The highest scoring 3rd-place song (out of possible 5) will get a ticket to the final
- The remaining 4 artists will face additional voting rounds. The winner will qualify for the final.
- The results of the semi-finals will be determined by a public vote
- 12 artists will make it to the final, where the results will be based on a 50% public vote and 50% international jury vote.
Marcus & Martinus represented Sweden at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Unforgettable”.
They finished in 9th place with 174 points.
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
