Greece: The National Final is Postponed to January 30

Greek broadcaster ERT has announced more details regarding the national selection format for Eurovision 2025.
A total of 187 songs were submitted to the national selection, a track-record compared to recent years.
Initially, the national final was scheduled to take place on January 29th.
However, due to technical reasons, the national final will be postponed by a day.
This means that Greece will select its Eurovision 2025 entry on Thursday, the 30th of January 2025.

Greece’s National Selection For Eurovision 2025

  1. The national final will be held on Thursday, the 30h of January 2025.
  2. The show will take place at the Christmas Theatre in Galatsi, Athens
  3. Up to 12 songs will be selected to compete in the national selection. An additional 3 songs will be selected as backups.
  4. A jury panel of 5 members will shortlist the submitted songs.
  5. The results will be determined by a combination of a 50% public vote, a 25% national jury vote and a 25% international jury vote. The results will probably be converted to a fixed point-system.
  6. In case of a tie, the televote will determine the results.
  7. The rumored hosts are 2 former Eurovision artists: Helena Paparizou (Eurovision 2001, 2005) and Sakis Rouvas (Eurovision 2004, 2009)

In recent years, Greece has used internal selection for most of the cases.
In some cases, the shortlisted acts have been revealed (like in 2023), while in other cases (like 2024) ERT has announced the chosen acts.

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th, and 17th of May 2025
