Go-Jo – Milkshake Man

Go-Jo (real name: Marty Zambotto) is a 29-year-old Australian-French singer, songwriter and producer.
He was born to an Australian mother and a French father.
Besides music, Go-Jo is a professional Australian rules football player.
He started working on music in 2016,  and is known for his guitar-centric original songs and covers (like “Iris” By Goo Goo Dolls and  “Mrs. Hollywood” by Bondi Beach).
He has released song original songs like: “Cry About” and “Lover Man.

In 2025, he was internally selected to represent Australia in Eurovision 2025. He will perform “Milkshake Man”:

Allocation in Semi-Final

Australia was allocated to perform in the 1st position in semi-final 2.
The country will perform before Montenegro.

Initial Personal Ranking

19th overall, 12th in semi-final 2

Musical Review

Poetry Analysis

The song uses the metaphor of a milkshake to symbolize joy, happiness, and positivity. It invites the readers/listeners to embrace life and take it less seriously.
The song opens with a sense of intimacy – “Take a sip from my special cup”. One can understand that the narrator suggests a magical solution that can uplift other’s moods.
It seems like the addressee has low energy, but it won’t take much to improve the situation – “I heard that you could use a little pick me up”.
The lyrics mention different flavors of milkshake to symbolize different experiences in life. It can be interpreted in two forms: Different kinds of issues that can be solved, or either that happiness and joy can come in different forms (just like milkshake).
The repetition of the “milk shake man” might suggests that’s more than physical person, it is a state of mind.
The song puts an important idea in its front. It isn’t only about living life in positive way, but also find a way to uplift the spirit of others.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2

Among the countries that usually vote for Australia, 5 of them will vote in semi-final 2: Denmark, Finland, the UK, Israel, and Germany.

Betting Odds

The song was revealed as the Australian entry for Eurovision 2025 on February 25th, 2025.
The song debuted in the 8th place, and then started losing one place per day.
Between March 1st and Mach 5th, Australia has been ranked in the 13th-15th places.
Since March 6th, Australia has moved in the range of 16th-20th place, 17th on average.

Early Prediction

On the one hand, Australia brought a public-vote-friendly song. For the 3rd year in a row, the semi-finals will be determined by 100% public vote. Go Jo will open the semi-final, which might benefit (but also make him forgotten by the end of the show).
On the other hand, he might struggle with the vocals. The song is a difficult one to stage correctly, as staging might be too simple or either too ornate.
Therefore, it possible that Australia will qualify, but at the same time, I can see this a surprising non-qualifier.
Prediction: Australia will be a borderline qualifier/non-qualifier. If Australia qualifies, it will be 19-26 in the final.

JJ – Wasted Love

JJ (real name: Johannes Pietsch) is a 23-year-old singer and a performer in the Vienna State Opera. He was born to an Austrian father and a mother from the Philippines.
He was born in Vienna and spent some years in Dubai.
In 2021, he participated in the music show Starmania, just like Teya and Salena!
He has appeared in productions such as Die Zauberflöte, Von der Liebe Tod, and Tschick.
JJ combines opera and pop in his music.

In 2025, he was internally selected to represent Austria in Eurovision 2025 with the song “Wasted Love”

Allocation in Semi-Final

Austria was allocated to perform in the 6th position in semi-final 2
They will perform after Armenia, and before the UK (automatic qualifier)

Initial Personal Ranking

2nd overall, 1st in semi-final 2

Musical Review

Poetry Analysis

The song describes the story of a broken-hearted guy or tells the story of an impossible love. The song opens with the imagery “I am an ocean of love/ and you scared of water” – This phrase shows the deep difference between the narrator and the addressee. It can also be evidence of physical distance. The “ocean of love” suggests that the narrator has an abundance of love to give. While the addressee has fear or intimacy. This leaves the narrator drowning in his feelings.
“I reach out my hand/ But you watch me grow distant” – The narrator asks for help, like someone who is about to drown, but the addressee does nothing and just becomes farther.
The narrator keeps wondering why his lover does nothing about this. He is left brokenhearted and feels like their story is a wasted love story.
In the second verse, the emotional landscape of the narrator is described as well. However, this time it seems like he is more positive about the future – “Still, I’m holdin’ on to hope”.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2

Among the countries that usually vote for Austria, 5 of them will vote in semi-final 2: Australia, Israel, Lithuania, Denmark, and the UK.

Betting Odds

Austria selected its song for Eurovision 2025 on March 6th, 2025.
Austria debuted in 3rd place for a day, spent one day in 2nd place, and another day as the winner. Ever since then, Austria has been stable in the 2nd place with the bookies.

Early Prediction

It isn’t even a question. Austria will qualify for the final.
I am not sure whether it can win the semi-final, as opera songs usually do well, but not that well.
Austria has the potential to win the jury vote due to incredible vocals, fine production, and meaningful text. However, they must find a way to make his performance more charismatic.
Prediction: 1-6 in the final

Adonxs – Kiss Kiss Goodbye

ADONXS (real name: Adam Pavlovčin) is a 29-year-old Slovak singer.
He is openly gay and sees his gender as a key factor in his artistic identity.

He rose to fame in Czechia and Slovakia in 2021 when he won “SuperStar”
In 2022, he released his debut album as a solo singer – “Age of Adonxs”.
Besides music, he also has a rich experience in modeling and dancing.
In 2022, he won multiple awards as “Best Male Singer”, “Best New Artist,” as well as being featured in “Forbes Under 30” in the music category.
He mentions Woodkid, Florence and The Machine, Birdy, Lorde, London Grammar, Dua Lipa and others as his biggest music inspirations.

In 2025, he was internally selected to represent Czechia in Eurovision 2025.
He will perform “Kiss Kiss Goodbye”.

Allocation in Semi-Final

Czechia was allocated to perform in the 12th position, after Denmark and before Luxembourg.

Initial Personal Ranking

11th overall, 8th in semi-final 2.

Musical Review

Poetry Analysis

The song talks about a relationship that ended and delves into the bitterness of farewells. The song starts with a sense of longing and nostalgia. The narrator reminisces about romantic moments with his previous lover from the past. The phrase “kiss, kiss goodbye” is used as a reminder of sweet affection from the past and the current separation. He is eager for the moment of union, but he is well aware of the impossibility. In the pre-chorus, the narrator tells us about the way he fell in love – “You seemed so holly / …. / when you said you love me”. The contrast between the welcoming kiss and the sorrow of goodbye emphasized the emotional experience that the narrator goes through. It also shows us the two faces of love: Beautiful moments vs. painful moments.
The second verse describes the abrasive nature of love – “Caught in a motion, you’re wearing mе out”. In the final chorus, the narrator realizes the situation: The relationship has ended, but will always be part of him. The main phrase is now used as a way to honor the past while looking forward to the future.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2

Among the countries that usually vote for Czechia, 4 of them will vote in semi-final 2: Israel, Finland, Austria, and Australia.

Betting Odds

The acoustic version of the song was revealed during “MESC 2025” on February 4th. The official Eurovision version was released on March 6th, 2025.
It started in the 14th, and then 12th place, Czechia has been ranked 7th to 10th place for 28 days, 8th on average. Thereafter, Czechia has moved in the range of 11th-17th place, 13th on average. Since April 12th, Czechia has been in around the 9th-10th place.

Early Prediction

Czechia brings a bold song to Basel, a fusion of modern pop and emotional ballad, with meaningful lyrics and great vocals. Czechia has a great allocation in the semi-final, as ADONXS will perform after 4 female vocalists (Malta, Georgia, France, Denmark) and will be followed by 3 female vocalists (Luxembourg, Israel, Germany). Therefore, he will stand out.
The song has a notable advantage, as it might have both jury and public vote appeal.
Prediction: Czechia will qualify for the final and will end in the 4th to 9th place in the final.

Sissal – Hallucination

Sissal Jóhanna Norðberg Niclasen (better known as Sissal) is a 30-year-old Faroese singer. She was born in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands, and is the daughter of Faroese artist Mikkalina Norðberg.

In 2025, she released her first EP, “Hear Me Now.”
She mentioned Dagny and Robyn as her biggest music inspirations.

In 2025, she won the Danish selection “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2025”.
She will perform “Hallucination” at Eurovision 2025:

Allocation in Semi-Final

Denmark was allocated to perform in the 11th position after France (automatic qualifier) and before Czechia.

Initial Personal Ranking

8th overall, 7th in semi-final 2

Musical Review

Poetry Analysis

The song describes the transformation one might experience while meeting someone who will impact her life. In the first verse, the narrator tells us about the journey she has gone through after meeting that person. She describes him as more than one can imagine (“More than meets the eye”). The metaphor “you open all the doors inside my mind” describes the deep exploration of feelings and thoughts she was led to. The imagery “colors never seen before” tells about the sense of discovery, excitement and exploration. It shows the beauty of being in love, where you learn to appreciate love more than usual. The narrator is aware to the fact that love might bias her feelings and judgement in life – “My vision’s blurry but I can see clearly/ Maybe I’m losing control”.
In the chorus, she delves more into these feelings. The guy she talks about is described as “hallucination”. This tells us about the thin margin between reality and fantasy. It makes her questioning her past beliefs and perceptions.
lyrics, as the narrator grapples with the disorienting feelings that accompany such a profound connection. – “I’m paranoid / Slipping from reality”. She adds “a new revolution” which tells us about the change she is about to go through.
“Worlds are changing/ Darkness fading/ I follow you to the end and now I’m changing” – She lets past fears and negativity go, white focusing on the reception of positivity, love and light.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2

Among the countries that usually vote for Denmark, 4 of them will vote in semi-final 2: Ireland, Latvia, Australia, and the UK.

Betting Odds

Denmark chose its Eurovision 2025 entry on March 1st, 2025.
The country was ranked 25th- 29th by the bookies, and in 27th place on average.

Early Prediction

Denmark last qualified for the final in 2019. As I see it, this year they are the closest to achieving qualification since then.
Sissal is a talented singer who is equipped with a sharp pop song. We know that the Danish delegation will revamp the concept of the staging. On the other hand, Denmark won’t have their most reliable allies in the semi-final: Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, and Iceland.
Semi-final 2 is full of female acts, some of them might challenge Denmark, such as Finland and Malta.
I think Denmark will end up in 8th-12th place in the semi-final.
If they qualify, they will end up in 15th-20th place in the final.

Erika Susanna Vikman is a 32-year-old Finnish singer-songwriter.

Musical Review

Poetry Analysis

The song delves into the passion that love brings, but one can also understand it as a dedication to reaching some heights and peaks in intimate moments. The phrase “Ich Komme” (Eng: I am coming) serves as a central motif in the song. One can understand it in literal meaning or metaphorically. The metaphoric meaning talks about the arrival of love.
The song starts with the imagery of a romantic encounter in the night – “Night falls, heart beats, they fall in love”. This tells about the sense of passion and excitement, It also tells about the super powers that love brings, which van be beyond any nature force.
The song continues with playful and suggestive language. The metaphors like “starts in your eyes” and “let rhythm happen” encourages the reader/listener to enjoy the moment and live life.
The song goes into detail when it comes to the physical description – “and I’m on top of you”.
The pre-chorus talks about the deep connection and harmony that lovers might find – “When you come/ I’ll come with you”.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2

Among the countries that usually vote for Finland, 7 of them will vote in semi-final 2: Latvia, Serbia, Ireland, Denmark, Australia, Lithuania, and Czechia.

Betting Odds

Finland selected its Eurovision 2025 entry on February 8th.
The country was ranked 4th with the bookies during the first 3 days. Later, it went down to 2nd place over 11 days. Between February 23rd and March 8th, Finland was in the 3rd-5th place.
Since March 9th, it has been stable in the 6th place.

Early Prediction

Finland is a safe qualifier. Erika is charismatic and has a great stage presence. The song is catchy and memorable. The running order serves it faithfully.
In the final, the song will probably get more points from the public.
Prediction: 4-8 in the final, top 4 in semi-final 2
