Montenegrin broadcaster RTCG will select a song and an artist for Eurovision 2026 via “Montesong 2025”.
This will be the 2nd year in a row where “Montesong” will be the selection method.
RTCG has confirmed that the show will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Grand Studio of the Radio and Television of Montenegro.

Among the composers, songwriters, and producers, we can find:
- Darko Dimitrov – Composer from North Macedonia, who is behind many Eurovision songs for Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro.
- Boris Subotić – Serbian musician, who competed in “PZE” in 2022 and 2023. In addition, he co-wrote “Dobrodošli” by Nina Žižić (Montenegro, Eurovision 2025)
- Lena Kovačević – A Serbian musician who competed in “PZE 2024“.
- Melanie Wehbe – A Swedish singer-songwriter who competed in “Melodifestivalen” and co-wrote Eurovision entries for Denmark (Eurovision 2024 and 2025).
- Patrik Jean – A Swedish singer-songwriter who competed in “Melodifestivalen” and wrote additional entries.
- David Lindgren Zacharias – A Swedish songwriter who has mainly written songs that competed in “Melodifestivalen” (like “Revolution” in 2025, “Awful Liar” in 2024, “For The Show” in 2023, and many more)
- Aidan O’Connor – An Irish songwriter who is behind the Czech entry for Eurovision 2016, and many national selection songs (Lithuania, Malta, Ireland and more).
“Montesong 2025” – Known Details
- The submission window closed on October 3rd, 2025.
- A combination of jury votes and public votes will determine the winner.
- The songs will be released in early December
Vladana Vučinić, “Montesong” Executive Producer, stated:
We will try to make the Montesong festival even better than last year. There are some changes, such as hosting the festival in RTCG’s large studio this year and involving more RTCG staff to help with the production. We are also giving artists more creative freedom by allowing them to sing in any language they want. Last year, all songs had to have at least 51% of their lyrics in Montenegrin. This year, we want the artists to be even more creative
According to her, the artists will get more artistic freedom, as well as larger financial support from RTCG.
Vladana has also been related to the meaning of “Montesong”
It is true that Montesong is a kind of synonym for the Montenegrin selection of a representative at the largest music competition in the world – Eurovision, but we also see this festival as a platform for the promotion of the Montenegrin music scene, Montenegrin artists. All public broadcasters in the region invest even more money in festivals and selections of a similar nature, and therefore in the development of the national music scene. This is the obligation of the Public Service of Montenegro
Vladana shared that some of the submissions came from abroad; however, this stands against the regulations:
“Of course, we are happy when we hear that there is interest from talented authors outside Montenegro. However, the rules are clear and in accordance with the standards of the Eurovision Song Contest: the performer must be a citizen of the country he represents. It is not excluded that some of the authors above have found potential collaborators among Montenegrin performers.
Nina Žižić represented Montenegro in Eurovision 2025
She performed “Dobrodošli” and didn’t qualify for the final
Eurovision 2026 will be held in Vienna, Austria, on May 12th, 14th, and 16th, 2026.
