Moldova Confirms Eurovision 2026 Participation

After a year of absence, Moldova will take part in Eurovision 2026!
TRM organized a press conference this morning at the Arena Chisinau, where more details were shared.
The national broadcaster will organize a national final to select an entry for Eurovision 2026.

On September 30th, Moldovan broadcaster TRM organized an open discussion with representatives of RTM, music producers, singers, and songwriters. The main topics were: Organization of the national selection, promotion strategies, and participants’ support.

Moldova’s National Final For Eurovision 2026

  1. TRM will invite a long list of acts to participate in the live auditions (singers, songwriters, composers, and producers).
  2. Between 5 and 10 acts will qualify to compete in the live national final.
  3. The live auditions won’t be broadcast, unlike previous editions.
  4. The national final will be held on January 17th, 2026, at Chișinău Arena.
  5. For the first time, an international jury will be part of the jury panel (alongside the national jury).
  6. The jury panel will feature 20 members, with 5 international members.
  7. The results will be based on 3 equal components: public vote, jury vote and national jury vote.
  8. TRM will fund the winner’s participation.

Last January, Moldova withdrew from Eurovision 2025
The main reason seems rooted in a decrease in the public interest, as well as in the quality of the submitted songs, and economic challenges.

The withdrawal was made during the preparations for Eurovision 2025, where 12 artists passed the auditions and were meant to participate in the national final.

Natalia Barbu represented Moldova in Eurovision 2023
She performed In The Middle” and didn’t qualify for the final:
