Austria: “Vienna Calling – Wer singt für Österreich” Acts Have Been Revealed

Austria will select its Eurovision 2026 entry via a national selection, for the first time since 2016.
The selection show will be “Vienna Calling – Wer singt für Österreich”

Over 500 songs were submitted to the national selection. Around two-thirds of them are submitted in German or a dialect. Some of the performers behind the songs are well-known artists.
The professional committee will evaluate the submitted songs. 24 artists were invited to a live audition in front of the professional committee, and 12 of were selected to the final show:

Earlier today on the Ö3 morning show, the 12 acts have been announced:

  4. David Kurt – Pockets Full of Snow
  5. Frevd – Riddle
  6. Julia Steen – Julia
  7. Kayla Krystin – I brenn (Eng: I Burn)
  8. Lena Schaur – Painted Reality
  9. Nikotin – Unsterblich (Eng: Immortal)
  10. Philip Piller – Das Leben ist Kunst (Eng: Life Is Art)
  11. Reverend Stomp Mescalero Ranger
  12. Sidrit Vokshi – Wenn ich rauche (Eng: When I Smoke)
  13. Tamara Flores – Chingona

About The Acts

  1. There are two groups participating; otherwise, among the solo artists, there are more women than men.
  2. The youngest, Cosmo from Vienna, is 19.
  3. The show features acts from Tyrol, Vienna, Carinthia, and Styria.
  4. 11 of the 12 songs are still being finalized.

“Vienna Calling – Wer singt für Österreich” – Known Details

  1. The final will be held on Friday, February 20th, 2026.
  2. 12 artists will compete in the national final.
  3. The results will be based on a combination of jury vote and public vote.
  4. There’s no language restriction.
  5. Alice Tumler (one of Eurovision 2015 hosts) will host the national selection

ORF Program Director Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz commented:

“The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna is the largest event to be held in Austria next year. Our stated goal is to involve and inspire the entire country. Now that the question of where the Eurovision Song Contest will take place has been clarified, it’s time to decide who will represent Austria. We want to make this decision together with our audience – everyone can have their say, and all artists can apply to participate starting now.”

Eurovision 2026 will be held in Vienna, Austria, on May 12th, 14th, and 16th, 2026.
