Austria: National Selection For Eurovision 2026

Austrian broadcaster ORF will opt to select its Eurovision 2026 artist and song via a national selection!

Stefanie Groiss-Horowitz, ORF Program Director, gave an interview to Kurier, where she revealed the news.
ORF plans to hold a national selection as part of a big TV show, with an audience.
The public is expected to be involved in the selection.
The last time Austria held a national selection was back in 2016.

Here are the known details so far:

  1. The selection will be part of a TV show, to be held towards the end of February 2026.
  2. Up to 10 artists will compete in the final.
  3. The winner will be selected by a combination of jury and public vote.

In addition, ORF will contribute to the 70th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest. This will feature several events and shows, involving top-notch artists.

JJ represented Austria in Eurovision 2025.
He performed the song “Wasted Love” and won the contest.

Eurovision 2026 will be held in Austria in May 2026
