Musical Review
- It is an ethnic song.
- The song starts with an intro composed of guitar stringing, and then we get oriental vocal trilling from the lead singer. She is accompanied by drum playing. Later on, we can hear trumpet playing and some backing vocals.
- The first part after the intro s the chorus, which is based on vocal improvisations over the “Lei Lei Lei” part. This part is based on trumpet, keyboards and simple beats.
- The first verse is based on guitar playing and we finally have the lyrics. Jako sings this part with a thin mid-tempo voice. The melody is also based on multiple drums playing. Towards, the end it becomes more festive and we can hear the sound of cheering crowd.
- Thereafter, comes the second chorus which is similar to the first one. Lyrically, it doesn’t include any lyrics, besides the “Lei Lel Lei”. The melody is uplifting and it is based on several instruments. This part also includes some backing vocals.
- The second verse is mainly based on guitar playing. We can hear more from the lead singer/ Towards the end, drums beats are brought back and slowly explodes to an additional chorus.
- The third chorus follows and it is quite similar to the second one.
- The post-chorus is an instrumental part, which is based on flute playing.
- It is followed by another chorus (with no lyrics), where the production is more raw, and the melody is based on acoustic tiny guitar playing. Jako uses a technique of long vocal trilling, and gets the support of some backing vocals. This part is finalized by a long note/
- The song ends with another chorus and this time the trumpet plays a bigger role.
- I appreciate the authenticity of the song, and the fact it reflects cultural music. However, I find it structure quite messy. In addition, I didn’t like that the majority of the song is based on “Lei Lei Lei” and not real words. Instrumental wisely, is has something unique to suggest. But I was left bored and disappointed from it as a package. It feels like a nice improvisation or jam with friends.

Poetry Analysis
The song talks about self identity and desires in a world where social norms determine the rules. The spokesperson is required not to talk too much, but also not to remain silent.
She is asked to wear specific clothes and to act as a woman.
However, our spokesperson Jako is determined to stay faithful to herself. She encourages others to watch her dance – This is a metaphor to see her living her life as she wishes.
She encourages us to forget from criticism. After all, people will always have something to say.
She wants everybody to join her dance: Celebrate themselves, and be happy about her self expression.
Initial Personal Ranking
15th in semi-final 2, 34th overall
The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2
Among the countries that usually vote for Armenia, 7 countries will vote in semi-final 2: Georgia, France, The Netherlands, Greece, Czechia, Israel and Spain
Betting Odds
The song was released on the 13th of March 2024.
Ever since then, Armenia has moved in the range of 16-20 place, mostly around 17th of 19th place.
Early Prediction
It looks like a very voting-friendly semi-final for Armenia.
In addition, we’ve seen that ethnic songs and native languages tend to get more affection in the recent years.
There’s something messy about the song, but I think it will have an interesting staging.
The song will stand out due to its uniqueness (However Greece will also be a contender on the level of ethnic songs).
I believe Armenia will most likely qualify for the grand final.
If the country qualifies, I believe it will end around 14-19 in the final.

Nutsa Buzaladze is a 26 year old Georgian singer. Nusta is well known for her participation in several music festivals.

Allocation in Semi-Final
Georgia will perform in the 2nd half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2024.
Georgia was allocated to perform in the 11th position, after San Marino (10th) and before Belgium (12th)
Musical Review
- It is an ethno-pop song.
- The song starts with a kind of acapella, where Nusta sings 2 lines. The melody is based on keyboards playing and some string elements.
- The first verse is based on a dynamic beat. She sings this part in a mid-low tone of voice, some soul elements and some manners.
- The first pre-chorus is a bit faster, the melody is based on several combined beats and guitar sampled elements.
- The first chorus is a bit slower, and enables her to sing with longer notes. As this part progresses, we can hear an exploding alarm and then an oriental ethnic beat. This part continues with backing dancers.
- The second verse continues with the beat from the chorus. The melody is based on string made beat, it ends with long and high notes.
- The second pre-chorus follows, it is quite similar to the first one, but this time Nutsa sings the background vocals powerfully, while the backing singers sing the main lyrics.
- The second chorus starts a bit laid-back, and that’s why it is more exciting. The melody is based on wind instruments, and Nutsa sings more softly. Later on, we can hear some keyboard elements. It continues to be a mutual singing of her and the backing vocals.
- The song ends with piano playing, a mid-tempo beat and powerful singing.
- Nutsa is a very talented vocalist, and her interpretation adds a lot of excitement, power and emotions to the song. However, I feel like this is one of the cases where the singer is bigger than the song.
- In some parts, I felt like it was too technical, and it was a trade-off regarding the text and the emotions.
Lyrics
I see it in the air, I see it in the air
I’m running through these ashes
Like a firefighterPut out the fire, put out the fire
Did we build empires just to watch them burn?
My heart’s beatin’ louder, I’m runnin’ like tigers
No fear in my eyes though, I will save this loveThe ceiling is falling, the windows are burning
It’s getting harder to breathe
Can you hear me calling? I see ashes falling
I’m down on my knees, but I will save this loveI see it in the air, I see it in the air
I’m rising from thesе ashes like a phoenix, yеah
You know I’ll be there, you know that I’ll be there
I’m running through these ashes like a firefighterPut out the fire (Put out the fire)
Put out the fire, put out the fire
Put out the fire, put out the fireCome dance with that thunder, ’cause love makes us stronger
We’re not here forever, so can we save this love?
From lovers to fighters, oh, why do we do this?
We’re meant to rise higher and higher and higher(The ceiling is falling, the windows are burning) Woah
(It’s getting harder to breathe)
Can you hear me calling? I see ashes falling
And falling and fallingI see it in the air, I see it in the air
I’m rising from these ashes like a phoenix, yeah
You know that I’ll be there, you know I’ll be there
I’ll be there, I’ll be there(I see it in the air, I see it in the air)
(We’re rising from these ashes like a phoenix, yeah)
(You know we’ll be there, you know that we’ll be there)
(We’re rising from these ashes like a firefighter)I see it in the air, I see it in the air
We’re rising from these ashes like a phoenix, yeah
You know we’ll be there, (You know that) we’ll be there (Ahh)
(We’re rising from these ashes) like a firefighter
Poetry Analysis
The song talks about love, resilience and fighting for what matters in life.
The phrase “Put out the fire” shows the willingness to overcome any conflict or problem.
The metaphor of “build empires just to watch them burn” represents the material nature of humans which is meant to fail at the end of the road, while things like love are ethernal.
The spokesperson clarifies that she will do everything to save this love. She will explore super-natural powers in her, just to succeed.
The spokesperson feels like conditions aren’t optimal for her, the reality pushes at her and she must find a way to defeat this problem. These are illustrated by the difficulty to breathe, the falling ceiling and falling ashes.
She knows when is the right moment to act, and when it will happen, she will collect all the required powers to save this love.
She feels upset from switching from lovers to fighters.
Initial Personal Ranking
10th in semi-final 1, 26th overall
The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2
Among the countries that usually vote for Georgia, 5 countries will vote in semi-final 2: Armenia, Greece, Latvia, Israel, Estonia
Betting Odds
The song was released on the 11th of March 2024.
On the first 3 days, Georgia was 12th/14th with the bookies.
Thereafter, it went down to the 15th/16th place.
Since the 19th of March, Georgia is ranked 17th-18th with the bookies.
Early Prediction
Nutsa is one of the strongest vocalists this year. Together with 4 make dancers, it might light a fire on stage, and I believe Georgia will finally change its fate at Eurovision.
I would not classify this as a certain qualifier, but my prediction is that Georgia will most likely qualify for the final.
If the country qualifies, I believe it will end around 12-17 in the final, and even beyond with convincing staging.

She will perform the song “Zari” (Eng: Dice):
Allocation in Semi-Final
Greece will perform in the 1st half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2024.
Greece was allocated to perform in the 3rd position, after Albania (2nd) and before Switzerland (4th)
Musical Review
- It is a multi-genres song, which combines ethnic pop, Balkan music, urban pop and even Indian Bollywood music.
- The video clip commences with bouzouki (Greek ethnic string instrument) playing. This instrumental part also involves keyboards playing.
- The Eurovision version starts an introduction which starts a loop of pre-recorded vocals (“ta ta ta”). The melody is based on monotonous keyboards playing. Marina sings this part in extremely high and this voice. Later on, drum playing is added.
- Cracking repetitive vocal based beat (“ti ti ti”) opens the first verse. Thereafter, she sings part of it in English, but still the majority is in Greek. The melody is based on mid-tempo ethnic beats, and later on we get some oriental string and wind elements.
- The second chorus opens with the loop of pre-recorded vocals (“ta ta ta”). She sings this part in considerably low tone of voice. The melody is build on multiple layers, and among them we can recognize the zurna’s sound (it is a double reed wind instrument popular in the Balkans, South Europe, Caucasus and more). This part of the song is more of an urban pop.
- The second part of the chorus is based on electronic keyboards and some effects over the backing vocals. Her singing is effortless. The second half of this part includes some reverb over Marina’s voice.
- The bridge is more laid back, and we can hear Marina singing in a higher tone of voice with some fragility. The melody is based on keyboards playing, but later on we can hear the zurna once again.
- The interlude brings the ethnic sound to the center. One last chorus follows and includes choir make backing singing.
- Overall, I see it as one of the most modern songs this year, and it finally brings Greece in its most ethnic and cultural music. However, I found the whole package a bit messy and hard to digest in some cases. The transitions from part to part are too sharp and curly.
Translated Lyrics
If only pain wouldn’t come to us
I’m falling and rolling about like dice
I’m pretending to forget your name
And everything’s changing abruptly around meWhere’s the wind going to take us?
I’m falling and rolling about like dice
I’m pretending to forget your scent
And everything’s changing around me…I’m gonna do it my way
I’ll come and go from your mind
Why didn’t you give me your hand?
Not even so I could catch it?
Once I had hidden my heartache for you
I’m letting it all outLet’s go
Put your hands upI’m gonna pretend like it wasn’t a lie
Throw them again, one last time
And let them bring whatever they want after
(ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ)
(ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ)
And let them bring whatever they want after
(ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ)
Let them bring whatever they want
(ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ)
And let them bring whatever they want after
(TA TA TA TA TA)
Let them bring whatever they wantI won’t remember
The hours when I almost went mad
(MA-RI-NA)
Let me not remember
You didn’t believe that karma is realLet’s go
Put your hands upI’m gonna pretend like it wasn’t a lie
Throw them again, one last time
And let them bring whatever they want after
(TA TA TA TA TA)Even if I remain alone
I’ll always wait for you
I’m quaking like a flame
Like alcohol that’s been set on fire
When dawn comes, sadness eats me from the inside
I’ll die alone if you’re somewhere else(ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ)
And let them bring whatever they want after
(ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ)

I’m pretending to forget your name
And everything’s changing abruptly around meWhere’s the wind going to take us?
I’m falling and rolling about like dice

Sit down, sit down, sit down
I’ll tell you, I’ll tell you(ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ ΤΑ)

Poetry Analysis
The theme of the song is quite an open one, but I will suggest one of the interpretations.
Following the first verse, we can understand that the spokesperson talks about the end of a relationship. She feels like everything changes around her, and wishes she could forget her lover’s name. She is left with memories (her lover’s scent) and wonders what will be next (where will the wind take us?).
The theme of the song is quite an open one, but I will suggest one of the interpretations.

She is left with memories (her lover’s scent) and wonders what will be next (where will the wind take us?).
She tried to catch her lover’s attention, and even get some physical expression, but couldn’t.
The spokesperson even focused on the fact that her love wasn’t able to see her pain.
The rolling of a dice represents the urge to change luck, take a risk and follow the luck. She felt unlucky ending this relationship, and looks forward to a new adventure.
Towards the end, she celebrates with dancing, and this represents satisfaction of her new road or just being happy for being able to close the former chapter.
Initial Personal Ranking
8th in semi-final 1, 18th overall
The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2
Among the countries that usually vote for Greece, 4 countries will vote in semi-final 2: Albania, San Marino, Armenia and Malta
Betting Odds
The song was released on the 7th of March 2024.
Between the 7th and the 13th of March, the country has moved in the range of 10-14 place on the betting odds.
Ever since the 14th of March, Greece is stable around the 7th-8th place with the bookies.
Early Prediction
Marina Satti is a great performer, and I believe she will deliver on stage.
The song is modern, unique and catchy.
I believe is might confuse some people, but anyway they will remember it.
Therefore, I believe Greece will qualify for the grand final.
My prediction is 6-13 in the final (it will depend a lot on delivering the challenging notes and the staging concept)
Sarah Bonnici – Loop
Sarah Bonnici is a 25 year old Maltese singer.
In 2009, she competed in the national selection for Junior Eurovision 2009, snd finished 3rd with the song “The Mambo Song”.
In 2010, she won the 4th edition of L-Għanja Tal-Maltin Song Festival.
In 2010, she has also participated in the Maltese Junior Eurovision selection, ending this time in 7th place with “Kitty Kitty Cat”. She was a backing dancer for the winner.

In 2018, Sarah took part in the first season of “X Factor Malta”.
In 2022, she comepted in the Maltese selection for Eurovision 2022 with “Heaven” and ended in 12th place in the final
In 2024, she won the Maltese selection for Eurovision 2024 “MESC 2024”, where 36 artists competed to represent Malta at Eurovision 2024.
She will perform the song “Loop“:
Allocation in Semi-Final
Malta will perform in the 1st half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2024.
Malta was allocated to perform in the 1st position, before Albania (2nd)
Musical Review
- It is a dance pop song.
- The song starts with a short intro where Sarah sings soulfully, with drums and dance beat in the background.
- The first verse is based on a soft mid synth beat, which allows her to sing slower. Towards the end, we can hear some backing vocals.
- The first pre-chorus is quite short. It starts quite calmly with keyboards playing, but vert fast it transforms into a more up-tempo piece.
- The first chorus is based on a fast dance pop beat. Sarah adds some vocal decorations in some of the words. In the beginning, the beat are pounding, but later on we can hear a more continuous sound. Sarah gets the help of backing vocalists.
- The beats continue to the second verse, but this time it gets more of the flavor of Latin pop. She sings this part in a mid-tone of voice.
- The second pre-chorus slaps harder with a strong and non-stop beat with short amplitude.
- The second chorus feels richer, especially on the aspect of backing vocals. The post-chorus is built on some vocal effects with fade into the melody. The melody is based on drum beat. Later on, we can hear some studio effects. This part is utilized for the aim of a dance break.
- The bridge starts more laid back, with keyboards based melody and some percussion elements. Sarah sings with some soul elements and puts one long and high note. Thereafter, we get an additional chorus, which is less upbeat. This chorus is based more on drums, bass and keyboards.
- The songs ends with a fading tiny chorus.
- Overall, it sounds like a polished dance pop song. But on the same time, it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. In fact, it sounds like a combination of many former Eurovision songs. The main difficulty will probably be singing and dancing together
Lyrics
Don’t you know that you got me
That you got me, yeah, me, yeahGot me so hot, burning’ up like a fever
I’m a honey pot, never tasted nothin’ sweeter
Thought you could turn me down, no, no, no
Let’s go another round, slowDon’t you tell me I’m your addiction
It was obvious you’d end up like thisOh my God, you got-got-got me on (Loop)
‘Cause I’m in, but the bla-bla-blame’s on (You)
Let me tease you, boy, you love it when I
M-m-m-move, got you on loop
In your head all night, you got me on
Got me on, got me on loopCherry on top, you’re the cinnamon
Makin’ my heart skip a little bit
Like ra-pa-pa-bam-ba, ra-pa-pa-bam-ba, yeah
You know how to spin me, boyDon’t you know you’re my, my addiction?
It was obvious we’d end up like thisOh my God, you got-got-got me on (Loop)
‘Cause I’m in, but the bla-bla-blame’s on (You)
Let me tease you, boy, you love it when I
M-m-m-move, got you on loop
In your head all night, you got me on
Got me on, got me on loopOoh
Ooh
It was obvious, we’re addicted, addicted
Yeah, it was obvious
Here we go again
HuhOh my God, you got-got-got me on (Loop)
‘Cause I’m in, but the bla-bla-blame’s on (You)
Let me tease you, boy, you love it when I
M-m-m-move, got you on loop
In your head all night, you got me on
Got me on, got me on loop
Poetry Analysis
The song talks about the passion and strong emotions one can feel in the beginning of a love story or an affair. Through the lyrics we discover the thin margin between toxicity and addictive love.
The spokesperson begins by telling us about a relationship.
However, she later on describes herself as a honey pot which the addressee can’t prevent.
She could have predicted in advance that he would fall for her and become an addict.
The cyclic loop represents the irresistible addiction, which can be expressed both physically and mentally.
The song spans the dangers and risks of falling in love too easily, which might lead to unhealthy dynamics. This might be resolved by early detection, recognition and getting out of such a relationship.
Initial Personal Ranking
9th in semi-final 1, 19th overall
The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2
Among the countries that usually vote for Malta, MM countries will vote in semi-final 2: Armenia, Italy, the UK, and San Marino
Betting Odds
The song selected as Malta‘s entry for Eurovision 2024 on the 3rd of February 2024.
Between the 4th of February and the 11th of March, Malta has been in the 34-36 place on the betting odds.
Between the 12th and the 24th of March, Malta has been ranked 33-34.
Between the 25th of March and the 9th of April 2024, Malta had moved in the range of 29-32 place.
Ever since the 10th of April, Malta is stable around the 35-36 place.
Early Prediction
Malta has got an allocation draw which might rise as an advantage, when observing the type of the song. I am sure it will be an energetic opener.
However, there’s something bland about the song, and it doesn’t bring anything new to the table.
Vocally, it still has to be improved.
I believe qualifying is possible, but most likely Malta will struggle to qualify.
However, in case the country qualifies, I can seen them ending in the 18-23 place in the final.
Megara – 11:11
Megara is a Spanish rock band, which was formed in 2015 in Madrid.
The band consists of 4 members: Kenzy Loevett, Vitti Crocutta, Tio Rober Bueno, and Raphaela Tache.
So far, the band has released 3 studio albums and 4 Eps.
In 2023, the band competed in the Spanish selection for Eurovision 2023 (“Benidorm Fest 2023”), where they performed the song “Arcadia” and finished in the 4th place in the final.
In 2024, they competed in San Marino’s selection for Eurovision 2024, where more than 100 artists took part.
They will perform the song “11:11“:
Allocation in Semi-Final
San Marino will perform in the 2nd half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2024.
San Marino was allocated to perform in the 10th position, after Latvia (9th) and Spain (automatic qualifier) and before Georgia (11th)
Musical Review
- It is a rock song.
- The song starts with bass and drums, while the lead singer sings with a semi-husky voice. We can hear some backing vocals in the background.
- The first pre-chorus suggest a very curly melody, and Kenzy sings it with a higher tone of voice. The rate is faster. This part is somehow more theatratical. The melody is based on keyboards, drums and bass.
- Before the first chorus, we get a short instrumental electronic trasition.
- The chorus is more energeic and kicking. The melody is based on powerful bass and drums, while we can hear the husky voice of the lead singer.
- The second verse verse is based on electronic beat alongside electronic guitar. The singing part opens with reciiting. She sings this part with some effects over her voice.
- The second pre-chorus is more melodical, and we get more from her on the vocal aspects.
- The second chorus brings the rock to the center, with bass and drums.
- The post-chorus is based on electtic guitar and bass. She sings this part with a higher tone of voice.
- Thereafter, we get an instrumental part, which is based on electronic elements and some vocal effects. Later on, we get some elemenst fom Spanish ethnic music. Those are reflected through Latin beat, percussions and keyboards.
- The song continues with ana additional chorus, which is similar to the prevoous ones. However, this time we get more backing vocals. This part is finalized by electronic closude, choir singing with plenty of elements and unplugged singing.
- It is an extroverted rock song. But I felt the main focus was made on the attitude, and not the composition itself. I’d like to get more electronic elements to diverse it even more. The chorus felt a bit repetitive.
- Sadly, I feel it isn’t bold enough to stand out.
Translated Lyrics
My heart is broken
But it’s kind of ironic
Nothing romantic
A wound between the two of us
I know it sounds tragic
But it’s notCan you stop wasting time
I’m Searching for you, searching for my veins?
I know there’s nothing to do
But who are you?
Please get him out of hereYou’re gonna be able to jump all night
Come on and give me a reason
To want to change those voices
You know some lie and some don’tM-E-L-A-P-E-L-A
That if you don’t love me
Other people will love meYou wanna be a big bad wolf
You wanna be pathetic, lesser evil
You think you can take me down
We surrendered to Benidorm
You paint it illogical
Even magical
And it’s just rock and rollYou’re gonna be able to jump all night
Come on and give me a reason
To want to change those voices
You know some lie and some don’tGive me a sign (All night long)
I always want more
I’ll fly in a step back
I’m where you areWe like to party
But we love rockYou’re gonna be able to jump all night
Come on and give me a reason
To want to change those voices
You know some of them are lying
You’re gonna be able to jump all night long
Come and give me a reason
To want to change those voices
You know some lie and some don’tM-E-L-A-P-E-L-A
That if you don’t love me
Other people will love me
Poetry Analysis
The song talks about the end of a relationship, a broken heart and other consequences.
The spokesperson mocks the idea of a broken heart, underlying it as non-romantic, but also not a tragedy. She wants to disconnect from related pain and prefers to focus on emotional and physical distance between her and her former partner.
She is determined to focus on enjoying life, and follow the light, instead of drowning in the dark and sadness. The positivity in life is represented by the willingness to jump all night long.
The spokesperson believes in her self value, and that’s why she is sure others will love her, if her former love doesn’t.

Early Prediction
Semi-final 2 seems like a tough one. San Marino isn’t one of the strongest songs in this semi-final. In addition, the country has historically struggled to qualify based on televote only.
One of the challenges is that there are other rock songs in this semi-final, which might “cancel” this one, like Norway.
Therefore, I am almost sure San Marino won’t qualify to the final.
In the next episode, we will discuss the remaining countries from semi-final 2: Belgium, Czechia, Israel, Latvia and The Netherlands
