“Luxembourg Song Contest 2026”: Dates and First Details Have Been Revealed

Luxembourgish broadcaster RTL revealed more details regarding the national selection for Eurovision 2026. The show will be used as the national selection for Eurovision for the 3rd year in a row

“Luxembourg Song Contest 2026” – Known Details

  1. The final show will take place in Rockhal, at Esch-sur-Alzette on January 24th, 2026.
  2. Registration can be made online here
  3. The submission window opened on July 4th, 2025.
  4. There are 2 path for submissions:
    • Artists with songs – Deadline on September 21st, 2025.
    • Artists without songs or songs – Deadline line on August 3rd, 2025.
  5. The difference this time will be that the RTL won’t match artists without songs to a song. Instead, the collaboration will be made between songwriters (either national or international). The outcome will be a team-up list, where artists and songwriters can initiate contacts with each other.
  6. The live auditions will take place in front of international expert jury, during October 2025.
  7. The eligibility criteria for artists:
    • Must meet at least one of the following conditions:
      • Have a Luxembourgish nationality
      • Have resided in Luxembourg for at least three consecutive years
      • Demonstrate strong cultural involvement and a proven connection with the Luxembourgish music scene
    • Must be at least 18 years old by January 24th, 2026.
  8. Each artist can submit up to 3 songs.
  9. Each artist must possess a live singing ability and feel comfortable on stage.
  10. The eligibility criteria for songs:
    • Maximal duration: 3 minutes
    • Might be in any language
    • A maximum of 6 people are allowed on the stage.
    • Songs haven’t been released on publicly performed before September 1st 2025.
