Swedish broadcaster SVT revealed the duo who will host “Melodifestivalen 2026”: Gina Dirawi and Hampus Nessvold

Gina Dirawi will host the contest for the 4th time, after hosting the 2012, 2013, and 2016 editions previously. She is a 35-year-old comedian, songwriter, author, host, and TV personality.

Gina commented:

It’s been ten years since I last met the audience, and I’ve missed it. Melodifestivalen is a very unique stage to stand on. To now be able to come back for the fourth time to the place that made me feel at home as a child, and also together with Hampus, feels incredibly fun

Hampus Nessvold will make his debut as a host of “Melodifestivalen”.
He is a 29-year-old comedian.

Hampus commented:

See Gina as the keyhole brand in this duo, the quality assured one and me as the loose cannon. But I promise to do my best and if it goes badly, I will be the first to give myself a minus in the evening newspapers.

“Melodifestivalen 2026” – Known Details

The competition will consist of 6 shows: 5 semi-finals and a grand final.
30 acts will compete in the semi-final, and 12 of them will qualify for the final.
The dates and host cities will be as follows:
- Semi-Final 1: January 31st, 2026 (Linköping)
- Semi-Final 2: February 7th, 2026 (Göteborg)
- Semi-Final 3: February 14th, 2026 (Kristianstad)
- Semi-Final 4: February 21st, 2026 (Malmö)
- Semi-Final 5: February 28th, 2026 (Sundsvall)
- Final: March 7th, 2026 (Stockholm)
2 acts will qualify from each semi-final to the final.
The semi-final results will be based on the public vote only.
The 3rd-placed teams in the semi-finals will proceed to the qualification round (second chance). 2 of them will get a ticket to the final.
The final results will be based on 50% public votes and 50% international jury.
