
As Portugal continues its search for the voice that will represent the nation in Vienna, all eyes turn to the Valentim de Carvalho Studios in Lisbon. Tonight, Saturday, February 28, the second semi-final of Festival da Canção 2026 takes center stage, promising another evening of diverse musicality and intense competition.
Following a successful first semi-final last week—which saw the qualification of Dinis Mota, Nunca Mates o Mandarim, Evaya, Marquise, and André Amaro—the pressure is on for the next eight hopefuls. Hosted by the charismatic Filomena Cautela, alongside green room hosts Alexandre Guimarães and Catarina Maia, the show will determine the final five acts to complete the line-up for the Grand Final.

The Songs
The second semi-final features a mix of invited composers and open-call winners, reflecting the broad spectrum of the modern Portuguese music scene. Here is the running order for tonight’s performances:

With the selection process reaching its peak, the journey doesn’t end tonight. The ten finalists will have just one week to refine their stagings and vocal performances before the Grand Final on March 7, 2026 which will include these 10acts:

The final will be hosted by the iconic duo of Vasco Palmeirim and Filomena Cautela. In a change of pace from the semi-finals, the winner will be decided by a 50/50 split between public televoting and seven regional juries representing Northern Portugal, Central Portugal, Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, Alentejo, Algarve, Madeira, and the Azores.
The ultimate winner will have the honor of succeeding NAPA, who represented Portugal in Basel last year, and will travel to Vienna, Austria, for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 this May.
