Lithuania: Lion Ceccah Reveals Plans For Spectacular Eurovision 2026 Staging

Lithuania held its national final for Eurovision 2026 – “Eurovizija LT 2026”.
Lion Ceccah won the national selection with the song “Sólo quiero más

Lithuanian broadcaster LRT released updates about preparations for the Eurovision 2026.
In particular, some details regarding the staging have been provided.

The Lithuanian performance will feature a bold prop: A costume installation created especially for the performance, which dramatically falls apart right on stage

According to a press release, the black stage sculpture comprises metal elements and tensioned steel cables, held in place by an electromagnet system. While the system is active, the structure remains stable and appears on stage like a petrified sculpture.

However, the electricity is turned off, a magnet releases the metal elements, the cables loosen, and the entire structure suddenly collapses.

Sigita Šimkūnaitė and Sandra Straukaitė will be in charge of the the sculpture and technological solution

Lion commented:

I wanted to create a spectacle that the audience has never seen before in any Lithuanian Eurovision performance – a strong visual break that would become the emotional climax of the performance.
t’s important to me that everything on stage has meaning. This sculpture symbolizes the transformation and inner break that occurs at the climax of the work

it’s not just a set design, but also a complex engineering solution. The entire mechanical system is hidden in the platform, and the structure is designed so that the “collapse” occurs at a precisely planned moment during the performance

Audrius Giržadas, the head of Lithuanian delegation, added:

As far as I remember, only once before in the history of Lithuania has a larger stage object been transported to the main Eurovision stage – a special platform, which was used in 2016 by Donny Montel.
This year we have an incomparably more complex stage solution. This type of construction is being used for the first time in a Lithuanian performance. To ensure that everything works flawlessly, the installation will be sent to Vienna for testing – this is essential when we are talking about the live broadcast of Eurovision

Lithuania will compete in semi-final 1 of Eurovision 2026 (May 12th, 2026).
The country will perform in the second half of the show

Eurovision 2026 will be held in Vienna, Austria, on May 12th, 14th, and 16th, 2026.
