Get To Know France’s 18 Acts for “Destination Eurovision 2019”

France format to choose their song for the Eurovision song contest “Destination Eurovision” returns for a second season.

The new format started last year was one of the most surprising semi-finals of 2018 worldwide and brought back France to the spotlight as their chosen entry “Mercy” by Madame Monsieur was one of the favorites to win.

France Télévisions revealed today through a press conference in Paris the 18 acts will battle for one golden ticket straight to Tel-Aviv’s final night on May 18th, as France is one of the Big 5 countries goes directly to the final.

 

New season – New changes

Season 2 of “Destination Eurovision” will have some changes too.

First of all, we have a new Judges panel. Christophe Willem is the only judge stay for the second season as we say goodbye to last year judges Amir and Isabella Boulay. replacing them 1.4 million records selling French singer VITAA together with the musician André Manoukian who also commentate 2018 Eurovision with Christophe Willem.  

Besides the talent changing in the judging panel, this year the semi-finals will broadcast live and not pre-recorded like last year. it means both the audience and the judges will know together who made it to the final.

18 songs will compete in 2 semifinals nights.  each semi will present us 9 songs and the big 4 from each semi, selected 50/50 public and jury, will complete grand final list.  On the final night, we will have a total of 8 act competing. this time judges panel will only say their opinion on each song but the voting will be 50/50 public and international jury, consisting of 20 nationalities.

Garou will host the whole celebration night same as last year so its gonna be funnnn…

2 semifinals round will take place before the grand final with 9 songs each.

the first semi-final is scheduled for January 12, 2019
