This new collaboration will strike you like a Cannonball!
Maltese superstar Ira Losco releases her new single “Cannonball” feat. Eurovision 2019 act Michela.
The two met on the Maltese version of “X-Factor”. Ira Losco was one of the mentors in the last season of the show where Michela was first discovered and later on win the honor to represent Malta in Tel-Aviv.
The country-pop “Cannonball” takes the singers in a new musical direction. the song was written by Ira and Michela’s x-factor mentor Howard Keith. Robert Agius responsible for the girls styling and Steven Levi Vella directed the video completes the puzzle and deliver a result that can make “Cannonball” a hit overseas in the US market. this is Michela first single after her Eurovision experience and she shared her excitement with her fans saying: “Finally I can share with you ‘CANNONBALL’ a song that I had such a pleasure recording with a role model and great friend, Ira Losco. It’s been a whirlwind ride but I’m extremely happy with the final product. I would like to express my gratitude to Ira Losco, I’m truly honored to have been given the chance to work on something this amazing with her. I hope you guys like it as much as we do”
Ira Losco set the record for Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 where she almost won the contest and came in 2nd place with “7th Wonder”. 14 years later in 2016 she returned to the Eurovision stage to sing “Walk on Water” came 12th in the final
Michela represented Malta last year in Eurovision held in Israel. her entry “Chameleon” became so popular among the fans and was reported as one of the favorites to win the contest. Michela opened the grand final in Tel-Aviv and finished 14th place scoring a total of 107 points.
