Tom Leeb Won’t Represent France at Eurovision 2021

According to an interview Tom gave to the French TV show “Good Morning Week-end” on Non Stop People, the singer will not represent France at Eurovision 2021.

The singer and actor Tom Leeb was internally selected by the French broadcaster to represent the country at Eurovision 2020. He should have performed the song  “Mon Alliée” (The Best In Me)

The singer mentioned that he have a busy schedule for next year, regarding cinema projects.

The translation of Tom‘s announcement:

We agreed with the French Television and it is they who will give a real answer to this” begins the singer. “I have a pretty busy schedule next year so I couldn’t do Eurovision,” said Tom Leeb. “It’s official,” he says. “Other things are coming my way but the French Television will give a very precise answer”, explains the interpreter of “The Best in Me”. In “Le Débrief de Non Stop” at the beginning of June,
He nevertheless said about his participation in Eurovision next year: “Of course it would tempt me, because this opportunity has slipped my hands. I would really like to have my chance. But until then, a lot can happen,” he declared to the Parisian in May . In any case, the artist will no longer perform the selected song, namely “The Best In Me”. He was able to interpret it during the big evening organized on France 2 (and across Europe) to replace the competition.

However, a few days later the French broadcaster confirmed they will hold a national selection that will only include a national final (without semi-final). The format won’t be similar to “Destination Eurovision“. The broadcaster has committed at the moment that the public will be involved in choosing the song and the artist for France at Eurovision 2021. Nevertheless, a jury panel is optional.
