Its official! Oleksandr Balabanov will represent Ukraine at the next Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw.
Ukraine has started its journey to Poland a few months ago with calling young musicians to submit their auditions. out of 70 possible entries received a panel experts has selected the 11 finalists continues for the next round.
A 50/50 decision was taken by the public’s vote and the jury panel consists of Eurovision Song Contest 2016 Jamala, the Ukrainian Eurovision Commentator Timur Miroshnychenko, ‘Antytila’ Lead singer Taras Topolia, singer Alina Pash, tv host Liubov Morozova, music editor Larysa Kliuievska, ‘Pianoboy’ lead singer Dmitry Shurov, and actress Ruslana Khazipova.
Calculating the results it was announced that 14 year-old Oleksandr Balabanov from Kyiv will be Ukraine’s 15th act for the young contest. Jamal’s vote BTW went to one of the other favorites to win the contest YAR POLITOV. and these were the full results:

Alina Pash voted for Oleksadr Balabanov;
Taras Topolia voted for Oleksadr Balabanov;
Ruslana Khazipova voted for Oleksadr Balabanov;
Dmytro Shurov voted for Oleksadr Balabanov;
Larysa Kliuievska voted for Olena Usenko;
Timur Miroshnychenko voted for Oleksadr Balabanov;
Winning the online votes was Daniela Shapochnikova. The top 5 participants with most online votes were:
Daniela Shapochnikova — 39,98%;
Olena Usenko — 16,61%;
Yaroslav Politov — 14,27%;
Oleksadr Balabanov — 12,6%;
Anzhelina McFarlane — 3,6%.
Oleksandr Balabanov already answered some fans questions online, confirming that its his third attempt to represent the country after reaching the finals twice. his winning is even becomes more exciting especially now at he reached the age of 14 which is almost at the limit age the rules of the contest permits. Oleksandr worked on his JESC entry “Відкривай” (“Vidkryvai” Eng: Open) with the music producer ADAM (@adamukraine) and uses funk and R&B motives. “I can confidently say that I am very pleased with the result and grateful to everyone who shares my musical taste.” said Oleksandr, and adds “In the future, of course, I would like to connect my life with music, now I am learning sound production, I write songs and make arrangements myself. I’m studying and dreaming of a studio of my own and new music projects.”
The last time Ukraine has won the contest was in 2012 with Anastasiya Petryk.
The 18th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will stay in Poland as of last winner’s winner Viki Gabor. there 13 countrieswill #MoveTheWorld together on the night of November 29th and a new star will be born.
