It’s been known for a while that the Norwegian act for Eurovision 2021 will be chosen through the famous mechanism “Melodi Grand Prix” and now more details have been revealed.
The Norwegian Eurovision blog escnorge.no claims that the 2021 edition of MGP will include 5 semi finals followed by grand final to be set for February 20th, 2020. all six shows will be broadcast every Saturday starting January 16th, 2020 from the H3 Arena located just across the street form Eurovision 2010 host venue “Telenor Arena”.
As for the COVID-19 Restrictions, the new project manager of the MGP Stig Karlsen was queued that the shows will take place with no audience and that tis season of MGP will look different from previous years but no other than spectacular as they will not deliver a halfway made product.
For the moment there are no rumored acts to participate in the contest but for sure, we will be happy to see last year winner Ulrikke Brandstorp among them. her entry for Eurovision 2020 “Attention” was one of the most popular songs to win the jackpot in Rotterdam but in order not to break the Norwegian MGP yearly tradition a decision was made she wont be internally selected for 2021.
