Earlier today, the Norwegian broadcaster NRK has revealed details about “Melodi Grand Prix 2021”.
First of all, the full line-up of the first semi-final has been revealed – 4 artists will compete in 3 duels in order to get only one spot in the grand final.

Stina Talling – “Elevate”

Jorn – “Faith Bloody Faith”

Beady Belle – “Playing With Fire”

Blåsemafian – “Let Loose”

In addition, the 6 pre-qualifier artists have been revealed. Among them, we can find 2 returning artists (considering former editions of “Melodi Grand Prix“)
KEiiNO – “Monument” (will perform in first semi-final)

TIX – “Ut Av Mørket” (will perform in first semi-final)

Stavangerkameratene – “Barndomsgater” (will perform in second semi-final)

Kaja Rode – “Feel Again” (will perform in third semi-final)

Atle Pettersen – “World On Fire” (will perform in fourth semi-final)

Rein Alexander – “Eyes Wide Open” (will perform in fifth semi-final)

The automatic qualifiers will release their songs on the day before the semi-final they will perform in.
About “Melodi Grand Prix 2021” format
“Melodi Grand Prix 2021” will include 5 semi-finals, “second chance” round and a grand-final.
In each semi-final, 4 artists will participate. They will be allocated into 2 duels. The winners of the 2 duels will face a third duel, where the winner will qualify for the final.
The 15 artists that won’t win in their semi-final, will have the opportunity to fight for additional one spot that will be given in the “second chance” round.
The grand final will include 12 acts: 6 automatic- qualifiers, 5 semi-final winners and 1 wild-card.
The results of each round and each show will be solely determined by the public.
The shows will be held in the H3 Arena, located in Fornebu, near Oslo.
The shows will be held on the following dates:
Semi-final 1- 16th of January 2021
Semi-final 2- 23rd of January 2021
Semi-final 3- 30h of January 2021
Semi-final 4- 6th of February 2021
Semi-final 5- 13th of February 2021
“Second Chance round” – 14th of February 2021
Grand Final – 20th of February 2021
The shows will have the same hosts as in last year:
Ingrid Gjessing Linhave, Ronny Brede Aase, Kåre Magnus Bergh
