Romania: How Will Eurovision 2021 Entry Be Selected?

The young singer Roxen has been internally chosen to represent Romania at Eurovision 2021.
She has also been internally selected for Eurovision 2020 (that was cancelled).

In 2020, The Romanian broadcaster held a special edition of Selecția Națională”, where Roxen performed 5 different songs.
Eventually, it was “Alcohol You” that was chosen for Eurovision 2020:


What about the selection process for Eurovision 2021?

Initially, the singer has written on her Instagram story

However, it seems that things have been changed since then.
TVR has decided to choose the song will be chosen by an international jury panel.
The singer will record several demos that will be judges by the jury panel.
It is very likely that the song she wanted to send for Eurovision 2021 will be included there as well.

It will be the first time that Romania decides not to hold a national selection show.
One reason for that is Covid-19 restrictions and its economic implications

The amount of the songs and date of release are unknown at the moment.
