Eurovision 2021 Songs Review – Part #4 (Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, San Marino, Serbia)

Welcome to our new series of posts!
The moment of truth has come, and all of the 39 competing songs of Eurovision 2021 have been revealed.
Therefore, we are ready for an extended review of them and of course ranking the songs.
Each post in the series will focus on 5-6 songs.
3 chapters have already been published (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3).
This post in the series will focus on 5 countries that will participate in the second semi-final:
Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, San Marino, Serbia.

Artist: Anxhela Peristeri

Anxhela Peristeri is 34 years old well-known Albanian singer and songwriter. She is the winner of the first edition of “Your Face Sounds Familiar“, the winner of the second place in “C’est la Vie” and the winner of “Kënga Magjike 2017“. The singer has Greek roots. Her family moved to Greece after she graduated from high school. Anxhela participated in “X-Factor Greece” Season 2

Selection Process: As always, Albania chose its Eurovision artist and song as the winner of ““Festivali i Këngës”. 25 artists competed at the festival this year. The national selection included 2 semi-final and a grand final. The results were determined by a jury panel.
The grand final was held on the 22nd of December 2020, when Anxhela Peristeri won with the song “Karma“. On the 1st of March 2921, a revamped version of the song alongside an official video clip was released.

Allocation in Semi-Final: Albania was allocated to perform in the second half of semi-final 2.
Anxhela will perform 11th, after Georgia and before Portugal.

Musical Review: It’s a ethnic ballad. The song starts with a powerful a capella by Anxhela. Afterwards, we can hear a strong combination of electric guitar and drums. Right after that, there is a short keyboard playing.
The first verse, after the introduction, is being performed as a ballad with a piano, violin, flute and computer processed melody. The first verse is pretty slower considering the introduction. The chorus is similar to the introduction. But it’s even more exciting. The chorus hints that the song will be based on ethnic motives as well. The combination of all of the instruments in the background of the flute creates a unique ethnic atmosphere which is danceable as well.
The second verse is more energetic and contains beat of drums. The second chorus has a slightly more acoustic character. It precedes a special section where Anxhela is singing powerfully while the backing vocalists support her. A lot is happening in the song, in a good way. The song stands up for its complexity, the wise use of musical instruments and stable music production as well.
The writers of the song tried to make us feel the drama and it worked.

Translated Lyrics (Taken from LyricsTranslate)

God is not forgiving me for this!

Life is like in fairytales had spoiled me
High in the sky like a star I was living
I was laughing like crazy when you were sobbing
Heartless, I only loved myself

God is not forgiving me this!
The world fell on me
You left me, my friends left me
There’s not even light

God is not forgiving me this!
I called you, but I don’t have a voice
The tears gathered in (my) hand
Rusted they are

Because I was looking for you in empty hearts
And I could understand that nothing entices me
Alone I am
Yes, alone I am

When I was sobbing, you were laughing like crazy
I deserved it to crawl
Guilty I am
Yes, guilty I am

God is not forgiving me for this!
The world fell on me
You left me, my friends left me
There’s not even light

God is not forgiving me for this!
I called you, but I don’t have a voice
The tears gathered in (my) hand
Rusted they are

Poetry Analysis: The spokesperson shares with us a personal experience she went through.
The song opens with a dramatic statement, she is convinced that God won’t forgive her after something she has done – “God is not forgiving me for this!”.
In the first verse, she describes her status as the best you could ever ask, she is high in the sky.
However, there is a lesson to learn. She claims that life being good to her, made her selfish, and she doesn’t pay attention to her environment. While one of her was in distress, she was busy enjoying life. While her friend cried, she was laughing – “Life is like in fairytales had spoiled me/ High in the sky like a star I was living/ I was laughing like crazy when you were sobbing/ Heartless, I only loved myself”.
In the chorus, she tells karma arrived and the expected thing happpens. All her friends left her, and she stayed alone in the darkness of loneliness -“God is not forgiving me this!/ The world fell on me/ You left me, my friends left me/There’s not even light / The tears gathered in (my) hand
Rusted they are
“.
She was looking for a replacement, someone else that would fill the black space. But no one else could have done it, she calls them empty hearts- “Because I was looking for you in empty hearts/ And I could understand nothing entices me/ Alone I am“.
In the second verse, reality turns to the other side. Now, she is on the dark side, she is crying and no one is on her side. She understands that she deserves it, after turning her back to her friend.
When I was sobbing, you were laughing like crazy/ I deserved it to crawl/ Guilty I am“.
And even after that, she still thinks

Initial Personal Ranking: 14th overall, 5th in the semi-final.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 2: 4 countries that tend to vote for  will vote in semi-final 2Greece, Switzerland, San Marino and Austria. Considering the fact that Anxhela is well-known in Greece, there are high chances that Albania will get high amount of points from Greece.

Odds Table: The song was chosen as the Albanian entry for Eurovision at the end of December 2020. Along that time, Albania has been in the last place in the odds.

Early Prediction: In my opinion, Albania has got one of the best spots in the running order. The song is a ballad, but one with ethnic elements. Performed in a foreign language and ethnic production will make it shine. Anxhela is an excellent performer. Therefore, my prediction is that Albania will be a border-line qualifier or will be close to qualiffy. If Albania qualifies, the country will end in place 16-22 in the final.

Artist: Victoria Georgieva

Victoria Georgieva was born on the 21st of September 1997. She is a singer-song writer who rose to fame after participating in the 4th season of “X Factor Bulgaria” and ended in 6th place.
In 2016, she released her first single “Nishto Sluchayno“. In June 2019, she released her first English song “I Wanna Know” that was filmed in America.

Selection Process: In November 2019, it was announced that Victoria will represent Bulgaria at Eurovision 2020. Her chosen song was “Tears Getting Sobber” and it was one of the fan-favorites to win the contest. However, Eurovision 2020 was canceled. Bulgarian broadcaster BNT internally chose her to represent the country at Eurovision 2021.
In the summer of 2020, a song writing camp was held in Bulgaria. Writers, composers, producers and singers all over the world arrived at the camp in order to create Eurovision songs for Bulgaria.
At the end of the day, 6 songs were chosen to be part of the official selection process.
5 of them are from her EP album ”Little Dramatic” while another song was released in November 2020.
Eurovision fans had the opportunity to share their thoughts about each of the 6 songs.
The songs in the running were:

Victoria-”Ugly Cry”
Victoria-”imaginary friend”
Victoria-”Dive Into Unknown”
Victoria-”Phantom Pain”
Victoria-”The Funeral Song”
Victoria-”Growing Up Is Getting Old”

The selected song for Eurovision 2021 is “Growing Up is Getting Old”. The chosen song was revealed on the 10th of March 2021.

Allocation in Semi-Final: Bulgaria was allocated to perform in the second half of semi-final 2.
Victoria will perform in the 13th slot, after Portugal and before Finland.

Musical Review: It’s a ballad with orchestra elements. The first verse is built on a symphony and harmony of percussion and strings. We can hear the clock ticking as time passes by and it supports the title of the song. The first verses are being performed effortlessly. However, the chorus is just beautiful and simple, Victoria is singing it with a high voice and emotional interpretation.
The second part of the song (after the chorus) is classical, the melody includes cello and violin playing. The peak of the song is being performed in a high voice and a wonderful choir singing combined with orchestra. The song ends with spoken lyrics that are being said without any melody.
I found the song impactful with a lot of staging potential. I’m really happy to see a song with orchestra elements presence in Eurovision 2021.

Lyrics

Playing Tetris with my feelings
Tryna keep them all inside
Hollow shadows and my soul is spilling over
I’m out of time, mmm-mm
Closing every door wanna be alone
Lonely is a way that I survive
Sick of wanting more, sitting on the floor
Wondering where all my feelings go

Nervous system’s aching
Growing up is getting old
Anxiety is draining
Getting up is growing old

Don’t get it
There’s an ocean of emotion that I’m carrying inside
I am cautious
‘Cause I’ve never understood how so much can fit in little me
Star-crossed soul (Hmm-hmm)
And I’m used to letting go (Used to letting go)
Sink deeper in the flow of it
My demons know (Mmm-mm) еxactly where my fears
Arе hiding all my tears

I’m torn by my nervous system’s aching
Growing up is getting old
Anxiety is draining
Getting up is growing old

And if I ever take that second to leave my worries behind
Maybe I could tread the waters of time
Get out of my mind

(And growing up is getting old)
Growing up is getting old
(And getting up is growing old)
Getting up is growing old

If your world is breaking
And growing up is getting old
Know that you’re worth saving
And getting up is all you’ve got

Poetry Analysis: The song discusses the natural process of getting old, as years go by.
In the first verse, it looks like the spokeperson wants to go back to her childhood. She reminisizes on things like Tetris game. She tries to hide her feelings, and prefers staying on her own. She reaches the age when wanting more makes you tired and even aimless- “Playing Tetris with my feelings/ Tryna keep them all inside/ Hollow shadows and my soul is spilling over/ I’m out of time, mmm-mm/ Closing every door wanna be alone/ Lonely is a way that I survive/ Sick of wanting more, sitting on the floor/ Wondering where all my feelings go“.
In the chorus, she describes the physical consequences of getting old, as pains start to appear. She even feels that every time she gets up, she is growing old – “Nervous system’s aching/ Growing up is getting old/ Anxiety is draining/ Getting up is growing old“.
Living life so far, filled her with emotions. Sometimes the feelings are too much to carry.
She is aware of her fears, but sometimes the tears take over without her permission
Don’t get it/There’s an ocean of emotion that I’m carrying inside/I am cautious/ ‘Cause I’ve never understood how so much can fit in little me/ Star-crossed soul (Hmm-hmm)/And I’m used to letting go (Used to letting go)/ Sink deeper in the flow of it/ My demons know (Mmm-mm) еxactly where my fears/ Arе hiding all my tears“.
She regrets living life without ever stopping, the worries were and are main part of her life.
By forgetting the worries, she could have enjoyed more of the past few years –
And if I ever take that second to leave my worries behind/ Maybe I could tread the waters of time/Get out of my mind“.
The song ends in an optimistic way. Everyone can handle difficulties in life, the years will go by. Nevertheless, all of us have value, we are unique and should never underrate what we are worth.
If your world is breaking/ And growing up is getting old/ Know that you’re worth saving/ And getting up is all you’ve got

Initial Personal Ranking: 8th overall, 3rd in the semi-final.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 1: 5 countries that tend to vote for Bulgaria will vote in semi-final 2: Spain, Albania, Greece, Serbia, and Austria.

Odds Table: The song was released on the 18th of February 2021. Bulgaria has decided to reveal 5 of 6 potential songs in a row (each song on a single day). The song was the last to be revealed.
Bulgaria was 4th, 5th and then 6th in betting odds during that period of time. On the 10th of March, the selected song was revealed. Bulgaria came in second place at odds. A few days later, the song decreased in the ranking: became 3rd, and then 4th and 5th. Since the 9th of April 2021, Bulgaria is 5th in the odds.

Early Prediction: At the moment, I see Bulgaria as a certain qualifier for the final.
Semi-final 2 may be a little bit dangerous for ballads, since there are several of them in the same show, sometimes in a row. However, we know that Victoria is a talented singer. In addition, it seems that Victoria has a strong team behind her that is taking the whole thing seriously. We can expect some good staging as well. In contrast to last year, I don’t think Bulgaria has a chance to win the contest this year. My prediction is that Bulgaria will end in place 2-5 in the semi-final.
If Bulgaria qualifies, Victoria may end up in place 4-10 in the grand final.

Artist: Stefania Liberkins

Stefania Liberkins was born on the 17th of December 2002. She is a 18 years old Dutch- Greek singer, actress and You-Tuber.
In 2016 she took part in the Junior Eurovision Competition as a member of the Kisses group that represented the Netherlands, finishing in 8th place with 174 points.

Selection Process: Greek broadcaster EPT has internally selected Stefania to represent the country at Eurovision 2020, with the song “Supergirl“. However, Eurovision 2020 was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The broadcaster decided to give Stefania another chance this year. The same team as last year wrote for her 5 songs. At the end, only the chosen song was revealed:
Stefania will perform “Last Dance“.

Allocation in Semi-Final: Greece was allocated to perform in the first half of semi-final 2.
Stefania will perform 4th, after Czech Republic before Austria.

Musical Review: It’s a dance-pop ballad with wide influences of the 1980s.
The song starts with a dramatic sound that continues with the echo effect in Stefania‘s singing.
Stefania sings more maturely. The melody in the first verse is namely based on string instruments and keyboards with massive digital production. The rate of the song becomes a little bit slower as the verse ends. The chorus is much more rhythmic, it includes a simple beat and relies on foundations of dance-pop from the 1980s. She is accompanied by processed backing vocals. The second verse is faster and the electronic beat plays a significant role in the melody. The second chorus is catchy and memorable and once again the majority of its strength is the backing vocals. After the second chorus, we have the bridge, where she sings softly, this is the most exciting moment in the song. Right after that, her voice becomes more powerful. The song ends with a shout of the phrase “Last Dance“.
To sum up, it’s a decent dance-pop song. Stefania‘s voice shines in that kind of song.
However, sometimes it seems to me the song lacks soul, in the meaning that it was too produced and the emphasis was on the sound package, but not for the whole experience. The video clip is modern and we can easily see how much effort was put into it. I’m sure that bringing something similar to the stage will help. One last thing is that I’ll be happy to see Greece bringing something more Greece- related to their entries in Eurovision.

Lyrics

My heart was born a radical
Electric and dynamical
I never listened to the remedies
But no forevers, no eternities
Holding on beyond the night
For a shadow that feels right
Holding on beyond the night to you

If the dreams we made are made of fire
I would give a life just to live the dream again
If our hearts are hanging on a wire
Let’s forget the world below and dance until the end

Let’s dancе
Our last dance
A rockin’ romance
This ain’t our last dance
Lеt’s dance
Oh-oh-oh-ooh-ooh
Oh-woah-woah-ooh
Oh-oh-oh-ooh-ooh-ooh

My heart was born in neon lights
Floating in space like satellites
Looking for signs of life tonight
As we collide in black and white
Holdin’ on beyond the night
For a shadow that feels right
Holdin’ on beyond the night to you

If the dreams we made are made of fire
I would give a life just to live the dream again

Let’s dance
Oh, last dance
A rockin’ romance
This ain’t our last dance
Let’s dance
Oh-oh-oh-ooh-ooh
Oh-woah-woah-ooh
This ain’t our last dance

Take a deeper breath before we touch
Running out of time, let’s use it up
And hold me before the morning comes

Let’s dance
Oh-oh
A rockin’ romance
This ain’t our last dance
Let’s dance

Poetry Analysis: It’s a love song that also describes the circle of life regrading relationships, lost and more. In the first verse, the spokesperson presents herself as a special creature. She has a radical heart, and her body doesn’t react to remedies. But at the same time, there is no eternity.
Therefore, we can include that there is something special about the character, but she isn’t of the Greek myth for example- “My heart was born a radical/Electric and dynamical/ I never listened to the remedies/ But no forevers, no eternities/ Holding on beyond the night/ For a shadow that feels right/ Holding on beyond the night to you“.
In the pre-chorus, the image becomes clearer. The thing that makes her special is the love she had.
The relationship she had was as strong as fire, she would have given everything to revive it.
but now their hearts are waiting for other opportunities. Until then, she asks to draw in the dream of love which is presented in the shape of dance – “If the dreams we made are made of fire/ I would give a life just to live the dream again/ If our hearts are hanging on a wire/ Let’s forget the world below and dance until the end”.
The chorus can be explained and understood in a complicated way because it contains two opposite sentences at the same time. (This ain’t our last dance / our last dance).
She said that it will be the last dance for her and her ex-lover. However, it won’t be their last dance in life – each one of them will have the opportunity to find another partner to dance with.
Let’s dancе/ Our last dance/ A rockin’ romance/ This ain’t our last dance/Lеt’s dance“.
In the second verse, she describes herself again in a special light. But at night, the magic is over.
All the lights and colors are gone, everything turns black and white. She is still waiting for her previous lover to appear. together they will have the power to shine and paint the world in colors –
My heart was born in neon lights/ Floating in space like satellites/ Looking for signs of life tonight/As we collide in black and white/ Holdin’ on beyond the night/ For a shadow that feels right/ Holdin’ on beyond the night to you“.

Initial Personal Ranking: 18th overall, 8th in the semi-final.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 1: 3 countries that tend to vote for Greece will vote in semi-final 2: Albania, San Marino, Bulgaria

Odds Table: The song was released on the 10th of March 2021. On that date, the song was in 12th place. Thereafter, the song decreased to 14th place. By the 5th of April 2021, the song was in place 13-15. The following day, it increased to 12th place and stayed there for 4 days. Additional 3 days were spent in 11th place. Since the 13th of April, the song has been in 10th place on betting odds.

Early Prediction: In my opinion, Greece will qualify for the final this year. Stefania is a young singer, but as we have seen in the past she knows how to perform live. In addition, the song is catchy and can be considered as one of the more successful 1980’s influenced songs in the contest this year.
It seems like Greece has a serious approach to staging this year, and no doubt it can elevate the song. I predict Greece will end in place 3-6 in semi-final 2. If Greece qualifies for the final, Stefania has the potential to finish in place 6-11 in the grand final.

Artist: Senhit

Senhit Zadik Zadik is an Italian singer with Eritrea roots. She is 41 years old and started her music career in 2001. At the beginning of her career, she participated in musicals like “Fame”, “The Lion King”, and “Hair” (most of them in Switzerland and Germany). In 2002, she returned to Italy.
In 2006 she released her debut album “Senit“, in 2007 she released another album with the title
Un tesoro è necessariamente nascosto“. In 2009, she released her third album, this time in the English language – “So High“. In 2011, she was internally chosen to represent San Marino in Eurovision 2011 with the song “Stand By” but failed to qualify for the final..

Selection Process: Last year, Senhit was internally chosen by the national broadcaster. Back then, she suggested 2 songs for the voters and the chosen song was “Freaky!”. However, Eurovision 2020 was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In May 2020, during the show “Europe Shine a Light,” the singer revealed she had been chosen for Eurovision 2021 as well. This time, her song was chosen internally – “Adrenalina

Allocation in Semi-Final: San Marino was allocated to perform in the first half of semi-final 2.
Senhit will perform first, before Estonia.

Musical Review: This is an upbeat Oriental pop song with rap parts. The song starts with an instrumental section that’s composed of electric keyboards and an electronic beat and backing vocals with effects. The vibe is of an oriental Middle East pop song. Her singing in the first verse is quite fast. However, the chorus is a little bit slower, we can hear more of her voice. After the chorus, there is another occurrence of the instrumental part from the beginning. The second verse is more rhythmic and powerful. It leads to another chorus which sounds almost the same as the first one. Thereafter, we are getting a surprise rap party from Flo Rida. Senhit sings with frills while her backing vocalists sing the main part of the chorus. The song ends with the sentence “You’re my Adrenalina” with an echo effect.
The song is a little bit repetitive, I think that the rap part came in order to fill some blank space.
However, the song is one of the modern ones this year. The production seems professional. I don’t think Senhit will have any difficulties performing it live. The song has huge staging potential and therefore selecting it may be a smart decision.

Lyrics

I’m burning up with affliction
Come gimme your full attention
I want you to tame my fire now
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
Can’t move without your eyes on me
It’s like my body’s yours only
So baby, don’t leave me lonely now
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh

We’re like fire and gasoline
Come and light it up with me
So high on adrenaline
You’re my adrenalina
Just one touch and I’ll ignite
I’m a flame, I’m dynamite
So high on adrenaline
You’re my adrenalina

Adrenalina

Oh-oh-oh, this place so fancy
Let’s go and light up this city
You’re close enough, but I need you closer
Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh
You got me to this point, don’t let go
No, I’m not lеavin’, not without you
You know, and you know I know, oh-oh
You know I know (Woah-oh-oh-oh-oh)

We’re like firе and gasoline
Come and light it up with me
So high on adrenaline
You’re my adrenalina
Just one touch and I’ll ignite
I’m a flame, I’m dynamite
So high on adrenaline
You’re my adrenalina

Adrenalina (Adrenalina)
Flo Rida, Senhit, got adrenalina

Step in the party ’cause she know to do my body like hot coals
Gasoline, kerosene, stop, drop, roll
I can’t blame it on the stove
911 when she comin’ down the pole
Yeah, we like flames when we touch, can’t get enough
We get ignited, so excited, you can feel the rush
Like cloud fire, more fire when we in the club
Put out my lighter, got the heat, she got me burnin’ up
Woah, so hot, look at it steam up
We got the blaze, so we in inferno when we team up
Hot spot, hot girl, have you seen her?
We up in smoke, fireworks, adrenalina

Adrenalina
We’re like fire and gasoline
Come and light it up with me
So high on adrenaline
You’re my adrenalina (Adrenalina)
Just one touch and I’ll ignite
I’m a flame, I’m dynamite
So high on adrenaline
You’re my adrenalina

Adrenalina-na-na
Adrenalina (Adrenalina)

Just one touch and I’ll ignite
I’m a flame, I’m dynamite
So high on adrenaline
You’re my adrenalina

Poetry Analysis: It’s a song about passion and love. The spokesperson is burning of love, she wants her lover to give her attention. Her existence depends on him. She adores him, and can’t imagine her life without him. When they are together, anything can happen. They have the perfect match (like fire and gasoline). Having him makes her feel so high, like adrenaline.
She needs his touch and his presence in general.

Initial Personal Ranking: 15th overall, 6th in the semi-final.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 1: 4 countries that tend to vote for San Marino will vote in semi-final 2Albania, Georgia, Greece, and Moldova

Odds Table: The song was released on the 7th of March 2021. On that day, it was in 16th place with betting odds. Thereafter, it keeps changing a lot in the range of places 9-12. Since the 13th of April 2021, the song has been 11th with betting odds.

Early Prediction: For a change, San Marino won’t struggle to qualify this year.
I’m sure Senhit will give us a memorable performance, based on amazing staging.
Opening the semi-final is also a good sign, telling us that the broadcasters trust San Marino this year.
I think San Marino will end up in 3-6 place in the semi-final. If San Marino qualifies, Senhit will probably end up in 10-15 places in the final. This will be the highest score for San Marino in Eurovision history. I think that in genral, the song will get the majority of its support from the public vote, and not form the jury.

Artist: Hurricane

The “Hurricane” or “Hurricane girls” is a Serbian R&B Pop band. The band was formed in November 2017 by Zoran Milinković. The members of Hurricane: Sanja Vučić, Ivana Nikolić, and Ksenija Knežević. The lead vocalist of the singer and the one who writes and composes the majority of the songs is Sanja. Sanja has represented Serbia in Eurovision 2016 with the song “Shelter” (Goodbye). The band hasn’t released an album yet, but have released several singles:
5 in 2018, 6 in 2019, 9 in 2020.

Selection Process: Last year, Hurricane won the national selection Beovizija 2020 with the song “Hata La Vista.” However, Eurovision 2020 was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Serbian broadcaster RTS has internally selected the band for Eurovision 2021.
This time, the chosen song is “Loco Loco” (Eng: Crazy crazy)

Allocation in Semi-Final: Serbia was allocated to perform in the first half of semi-final 2.
Serbia will perform in the 9th slot, after Iceland, and before Georgia.

Musical Review: It’s a disco-dance-pop song, influenced by 1980’s music. The song opens with a dance beat alongside pre-recorded and processed male backing vocals. The first one to sing is Sanja. She sings her part in a soft but confident way which can be described as a pop-soul genre.
Right after that, Ksenija sings with a slightly higher voice. Ivana joins us and gives us a short solo with a lower voice. The melody of the first verse and pre-chorus are namely based on a combination of beats, almost without a “pure” musical instrument. The pre-chorus and chorus are faster, the beat gets stronger and more dominant. The chorus is memorable, Sanja‘s voice leads it vocally.
Male backing vocalists close the chorus alongside the instrumental section that appears in the beginning. The second verse includes a slightly stronger beat but it is similar to the first verse.
This time, we will be able to hear more from Ksenija and Ivana. The third part of the song starts with a break, the beat becomes more rhythmic, as Sanja talks in English. The pitch of the song changes and we get a kind of modulation. The change in the melody elevates the value of the song and makes it less repetitive.
The song is a decent one, I’m just not sure if another 1980’s song is essential this year. I love the way that the singing parts were given to each one of them. With that, it is guaranteed that each Hurriance girl will show her strength. I have a lot of appreciation for the fact that the song is in the Serbian language.

Transalted Lyrics (Taken from LyricsTranslte)

(Ram pam pam)
(I am sweet and nice)
(Loco Loco)
(Ram pam pam)
(I am sweet and nice)
Huh-huh, huh – Hurricane!

Do not get mad, just gather some courage
A girl like me does not ask for promises
You cannot stop looking at me
I easily started running through your veins

Your smile is telling me
That you want me, so who are you kidding?
I am sweet like a chocolate ice cream
Now you go be all Lo – Co

Ram-da-da-dam
I am sweet and nice
And you are all alone
And I know, know, know
That we’re gonna tear this place down
So now you go be all loco loco

And I am sweet and nice
And you are all alone
And I know, know, know
That we’re gonna tear this place down
So now you go be all loco loco

(Be all loco loco)

Baby, baby, baby, why the drama?
A girl like me does not ask for promises
Baby, baby, baby, I am dancing alone
The fact that you’re not with me is your flaw

Your smile is telling me
That you want me, so who are you kidding?
I am sweet like a chocolate ice cream
Now you go be all Lo – Co

Ram-da-da-dam
I am sweet and nice
And you are all alone
And I know, know, know
That we’re gonna tear this place down
So now you go be all loco loco

And I am sweet and nice
And you are all alone
And I know, know, know
That we’re gonna tear this place down
So now you go be all loco loco

One, two, girls, c’mon
Loco loco, loco loco, loco loco
Now you go be all loco loco

You cannot stop looking at me
I easily started running through your veins
Now you go be all loco loco

And you are all alone
And I know, know, know
That we’re gonna tear this place down
So now you go be all loco loco

And I am sweet and nice
And you are all alone
And I know, know, know
That we’re gonna tear this place down
So now you go be all loco loco

Poetry Analysis: The song talks about the relationships between women and men in general. The spokeperson isn’t a particular woman, she speaks for all the women. The woman in the song is a modern woman who isn’t afraid to access her man by herself and tell him that she likes him. According to the song, a woman can definitely do the first step.

Initial Personal Rankings: 21st overall, 9th in the semi-final.

The impact of the allocation in semi-final 1: 4 countries that tend to vote for Serbia will vote in semi-final 2: Switzerland, Austria, Bulgaria, and France

Odds Table: The song was released on the5th of March 2021. On that date, Serbia was 30th with the betting odds. A day later, it decreased to 32nd place and after 2 days the song went down to 35th place. By the 11th of April 2021, the song was in a range of places 28-34. However, it has recently started to increase: Being 28th on the 12th of April, then 22nd on the 13th of April, and 21st since the 14th of April 2021.

Early Prediction: Whether Serbia will qualify or not is a hard question. I want to see a full live performance of the song, combined with dancing in order to be able to decide.
Back in 2020, we had some issues with giving an accurate vocal performance (especially by Ivana Nikolić and Ksenija Knežević). However, this song is much easier to perform.
Moreover, Serbia has a good allocation in running – orders that may help with outstanding.
Therefore, I think Serbia will be able to finish in place 8-12 in the semi-final.
If Serbia qualifies, I predict finishing in place 18-24 in the final.

the next chapter, we will discuss 6 other countries that will participate in semi-final 2, stay tuned!
