During press conference by the EBU executive supervisor Martin Österdahl and host broadcaster executive producer SIetse Bakker and France Télévisions it was announced the details for Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021.
It was announced that Paris will be the host city for JESC 2021. This is first time that Paris will be holding a Eurovision contest and as well it will also be the first Eurovision event to be held in the country since Eurovision Young Dancers 1999.
Venue of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 are La Seine Musicale in western Paris. The famous venue was opened in 2017 and had many major television events and held many musical award shows in France. The capacity of the venue is 6,000.
This is year’s slogan of JESC 2021 is “J’imagine” which means ”Imagine”. Date of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will be held on 19th of December 2021.
Alexandra Redde-Amiel, Head of Delegation for France at Junior Eurovision said:
“It is truly an achievement and an honor for the entire France Télévisions entertainment team to organise one of the world’s biggest shows in France. We look forward to welcoming the EBU teams, all the participants and the European delegations next year and to offer them a special show”
Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, is delighted at the announcement:
‘It’s exciting to be returning to the French capital with a Eurovision event for the first time in over 40 years. The team at France Télévisions have the passion, dedication and energy to create a fantastic show in December where talented young artists can shine and “imagine” they will win the Junior Eurovision trophy.’
Valentina won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with “J’imagine”, giving France their first victory in a Eurovision event since winning Eurovision Young Dancers in 1989. Barbara Pravi, who is representing France at Eurovision 2021, co-wrote “J’imagine”.
