At a special press conference today, Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC announced the identity of 8 finalists in the Ukrainian selection for Eurovison 2022
The 8 acts are:
Alina Pash – Тіні забутих предків (Eng: Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors)
The title of her song is a homage to an old film from the 1960’s with the same name.
Last January, the singer won the Music Moves Europe Talents Award.
She has also collaborated with Tina Karol (who represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2006)
Cloudless – All be alright
Cloudless has already participated in “Vidbir 2020“.
As always, they will give us a pop rock song with some electronic elements:
Kalush Orchestra – Stefania
The band members are: Oleh Psyuk, Ihor Didenchuk, Dzhonni Dyvnii, Tymofii Muzychuk, Vitalii Duzhyk, and DJ Kylymen.
The band combines Ukrainian ethnic music with hip-hop and rap.
One of the members may be very familiar to us – Ihor Didenchuk was on stage with Go_A band who represented Ukraine at Eurovision 2021.
Michael Soul – Demons
Michael Soul is well known thanks to his participation in the Belarussian national selection. His last participation was in 2019 with the song “Humanize“.
In 2017, he was one of the backing vocalists for Navibnand at Eurovision 2017.
Due to the complicated situation in Belarus, Michael has moved to live in Ukraine since 2021.
For “Vidbir 2022“, he submitted 3 songs. One of them was accepted – it is his single “Demons” from 2 months ago!
Our Atlantic – Моя Любов (Eng: My Love)
Our Atlantic is a Ukrainian Indie-pop band.
So far, they have released 2 Eps – “Pillows” (2018) and “Час розваг” (2020).
In addition, they have participated in the Koza Music Battle – a music competition in Ukraine.
Roxolana – GIRLZZZZ
Roxolana (real name: Roksolana Sirota) has collaborated with artists like Kazka and Nina Matvienko. She is known for her participation in the music show “Holos krainy“.
For “Vidbir 2022“, she will give up an upbeat dance pop song with some ethnic elements.
Wellboy – Nozzy Bossy
Wellboy (real name: Anoton Velboy).
He rose to fame after participating in “X-Factor Ukraine 2019“, his mentor was Andriy Danylko (who we all know as Verka Sirduchka).
Wellboiy combines pop, country, hip-hop and rap in his music.
Laud – Head Under Water [Edit: LAUD was eliminated by the broadcaster due to going against the rules of the content]
Laud (real name: Vladyslav Karashchuk) participated in “Vidbir 2018“.
Since then, he has collaborated with multiple artists.
Recently, he dropped the album “DUAL”, whose one of its songs will be his “Vidbir 2022″ songs:
10 hours after the announcement, it was declared that Laud’s song wasn’t aligned with the competition rules. In fact, his song was released in another version in 2018.
however, according to the EBU rules, all participating/ potential Eurovision 2022 songs shouldn’t be released before the 1st of September 2021. Therefore, Laud will be suspended from “Vidbir 2022” and will be replaced by another artist!
Barleben – Hear My Words
Barleben has entered “Vidbir 2022” at the broadcaster’s request.

First Half (Songs 1-4)
Second Half (Songs 5-8)
The final (and only show) of “Vidbir 2022” will be held on Saturday the 12th of February 2022. The show will last for 2.5 hours.
Mariya (Masha) Efrosinina will be the main host of the show. She hosted before Eurovision 2005.
Timur Miroshnychenko will host the green room. He hosted before Eurovision 2017, Junior Eurovision 2009+2013. In addition, he has been a Eurovision commentator for a long time
