On the 19th of Ferbruary 2022, the young singer Emma Muscat won “MESC 2022″ (The Malteese selection for Eurovision 2022).

She performed the song “Out of Sight” and was ranked first by the jury, as well by the public vote.
However, as we have reported in the last 2 weeks, the singer considered replacing her song for Eurovision 2022.
Emma spent recent days in Italy, where she was in the recording studio:

When the singer was asked by fans if the song for Eurovision changed ,she hasn’t denied it:

The singer has revealed on her social media channels that she will release a new song on Monday, the 14th of March 2022.
The song’s name is “I Am What I Am“:
Whether the song will be performed at Eurovison or not, we will find out soon.
Nevertheless, this isn’t the first time Malta has used this strategy.
The same happened in 2016, when Ira Locso won “MESC 2016“.
She won the selection with the song “Chamelelon“, but later on competed at Eurovision 2016 with the pop song “Walk On Water“
Malta will participate in the first half of semi-final 2 of Eurovision 2022 which will be held on the 12th of May 2022.
If the country qualifies, Malta will perform in the grand final on the 14th of May 2022
