Last Tuesday, EBU published the running order for the Eurovision 2022 semi-finals:

Head of the Contest, Twan Van De Nieuwenhuijzen, gave an interview to the Dutch NPO Radio 5 this week.
Twan Van De Nieuwenhuijzen (who acted as head of the Eurovision 2021 contest and was invited by RAI to extend his role for one more year) together with the show producers, was the one to decide about the running order of Eurovision 2022 semi-final.
The guidelines in deciding the running order were:

- Create diversity between music genres, in the flow of the show
- Consider the staging plans that each country has. So for example, countries with complicated staging will perform close to the start or end of the show or before/after commercial break.
- He mentioned that the reason Albania was chosen to open was the memorable beat in the song.
- Latvia has been chosen to perform after Albania, due to differences in the staging concept between the countries: Albania will probably rely on dark staging, dark close with use of lights. Meanwhile Latvia will bring a fresh and colorful staging.
- Albania will bring upbeat ethnic pop, which is very different from the funky pop Latvia has.
- He hinted that Finland has an ambitious staging.
- The United Kingdom will bring a surprising staging concept – “Something to keep your eyes on”.

In addition, it was revealed that the stage crew will have only 35 seconds between 2 performances to prepare the stage. Therefore, the Italian crew will get the help of some of the Dutch people who have done so in 2021.
As part of the security, water won’t be allowed
The stage for Eurovision 2022 is under construction!

This means that the artists will film their appearances in front of a green screen, outside of Italy.
These films will be combined with Italian sites.
20 Italian regions will be featured in the postcards this year – 2 postcards for each region.

Mahmood and Blanco will sing a shortened version at Eurovision, where the last chorus is shorter.

In the original version, the last chorus was
Nudo con i brividi
a volte non so esprimermi
e ti vorrei amare, ma sbaglio sempre
e ti vorrei rubare un cielo di perle
e pagherei per andar via,
Accetterei anche una bugia
e ti vorrei amare ma sbaglio sempre
e mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi.
Now it will be:
Nudo con i brividi
a volte non so esprimermi
e ti vorrei amare, ma sbaglio sempre
e mi vengono i brividi, brividi, brividi.
