Bring the Fiesta: Eurovision Song Contest Latin America!

The EBU has released an official statement, saying that the Eurovision Song Contest will have a new sister: Song contest for Latin American countries.

The idea of launching such a contest follows the American Song Contest (to be premiered earlier this year) , as well as the Canada Song Contest that will be held in 2023.

The decision was also made due to the impressive digital marketing success of Eurovision 2022.
The European contest was streamed in more than 232 countries and territories, with over 75 Million distinct YouTube viewers on the different digital platforms.

While over 200 Million people have watched the Eurovision Song Contest this year, on all digital platforms!

Martin Österdahl, Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor, has reacted:

“Following on from the launch of the American Song Contest, and with plans underway for the Eurovision Song Contest Canada next year, the European Broadcasting Union is thrilled to be now working with Voxovation on bringing the excitement and magic of the Eurovision Song Contest to Latin America. The unique Eurovision format finds new fans across the globe every year and we can’t wait to expand the brand in this hugely diverse part of the world.”

Currently, the main effort will be made on seeking partnerships and most importantly – the host city.

Eurovision Song Contest Latin America will be produced by:

Christer Bjorkman – one of the most established Eurovision producers, who was also involved in conducting the Swedish national selection “Melodifestivalen”. He is also one of the initiators and producers of the American Song Contest.

Ola Melzig – Television and event producer
Anders Lenhoff – Producer of the American Song Contest and Eurovision Canada
Peter Settman – Producer of the American Song Contest and Eurovision Canada
Greg Lipstone – Producer of the American Song Contest and Eurovision Canada

Voxovation (formerly ASC) is responsible for expanding the successful brand of Eurovision all over the world.
Voxovation’s CEO (Peter Settman) and Voxovation’s COO (Greg Lipstone) have commented:

“Fans across Latin America have consistently shown up and shown up for the Eurovision Song Contest brand, and Eurovision Song Contest Latin America is the embodiment of that fervent passion, as well as a continuation of the broad vision we, the production team, have for Eurovision as a global brand”

More details will be revealed in the near future, stay tuned!
