Olivia Newton-John has passed away at the age of 73.
She was a British-Australian singer, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, and activist.
She is well known for representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision 1974 with the song “Long Live Love”. She ended up in 4th place in Brighton.
The song was chosen by the public, out of 6 possible songs.
In addition, she is well known for starring as Sandy in the musical “Grease” alongside the actor John Travolta. Later on, the movie became the highest-grossing musical film ever.
Olivia has been one of the most active singers in the history of European music, releasing a total of 26 studio albums (the latest in 2016). some of her albums are certified gold and platinum.
She has won 4 Grammy awards and has 5 singles that peaked number 1st in the Billboard music charts.
In 1992, Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer, forcing her to cancel all publicity for the upcoming album, including the tour. Shortly after, her dad died.
After recovery, she became one of the worldwide symbols for fighting cancer and was considered an activist in the field.
In 2013, she had privately battled a recurrence of breast cancer, which she overcame.
Sadly, in 2017, it was announced again that she is dealing with cancer, this time spread to her bones and progressed to an advanced level.

Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.
Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.
Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall.
Olivia died at her house in California.
