It’s been revealed that Greek broadcaster ERT has received about 100 songs: more than doubled since last year’s submissions! Last year they only received submissions for 43 songs.
Dimitris Papadimitriou will head the ERT committee. The selection will be the same as the last two years.
ERT wants to maintain and expand its success at Eurovision Song Contest.
Director of corporate communications of ERT Dora Chiraki gave her proposal last year to institutionalize this successful method since she believes there should be a well-known and stable selection process so that artists and interested parties involved who wish to represent the Greek nation at Eurovision.
Greece’s internal selection – What’s Next?:
The members of the artistic committee will come individually to ERT and will listen to and rate the songs. The songs will not leave the radio station to avoid any risk of any leakage.
Songs that will have a majority of positive votes from committee members will move on to the second and final phase of selection.
The artists who qualify for the second phase will have separate appointments with the management and the jury of ERT to present their designs for the competition.
Like last year, there will be some interviews with them on ERT broadcasts, and somewhere in December 2022, before the holidays, we will find out who will represent Greece at Eurovision 2023.
The song will be released later with an official music video.
