Earlier this week, it was revealed on the “Morning in Sight” program on ERT, that 7 songs remained in the final race to represent Greece at Eurovision 2023.
Initially, Greece received 106 songs for Eurovision 2023.
A professional committee listened to all of them and reduced the list to 7 songs only.
Last year, only 5 songs made it to the final stage.
However, the selection process will have a different mechanism this year.
While in 2022, Amanda Tenfjord was chosen by the professional jury,
in 2023 the publc will be partly involved.
A total of 70 people from the public were chosen, with the following composition:
- 25 people from the age of 18-25 years old
- 20 people from the age of 26-35 years old
- 15 people from the age of 36-45 years old
- 10 people from the age of 46+ years old
On the 28th of December, 2022, the demochopic jury will listen to these 7 songs will rank them independently and personally.
The 70 voters won’t know who is the singer behind each song.
The Greek entry for Eurovision 2023 will be chosen by a combination of 50.6% for the demoscopic jury ans 49.4% for the professional jury (composed of 7 members).
The aim of these weights is to make it similar to the the new voting system of Eurovision 2023.
In the public vote, we will have an additional country – “The rest of the world”
The list of 7 shortlisted artists isn’t known yet.
However, among the 106 artists, we could have found:

- Leon of Athens
- Vasilis Kourtis
- Jimmy Sion
- Evangelia
- Melissa Mantzoukis
- Aretha Kosmidou
- Antonia Kaouri
- Harris Rivera
- Antigoni
- Klavdia
Greece‘s representative will be announced in the first half of January 2023.
The song will probably be revealed in early March 2023
Amanda Georgiadi Tenfjord represented Greece at Eurovision 2022 with the song ”Die Together”. She came 8th in Grand Final with 215 points.
