German broadcaster ARD has just announced the names of 8 artists shortlisted for “Unser Lied für Liverpool” (the national selection for Eurovision 2023):

The Eight acts confirmed are:
Will Church – “Hold On”
Patty Gurdy – “Melodies Of Hope”
TRONG – “Dare To Be Different”
Lonely Spring – “Misfit”
Anica Russo – “Once Upon A Dream”
Lord Of The Lost – “Blood And Glitter”
Frida Gold – “Alle Frauen in mir sind müde” (Eng: All the women in me are tired)
Rene Miller – “Concrete Heart”
9 artists will take part in the national final. The 9th artist will be chosen as a wild card by the public.
Out of the hundreds who submitted their entries via Tik-Tok, 6 will face a public vote for 1 wildcard.
The 6 contenders for the Tik-Tok wildcard are:
JONAH: “10/10”
Mitchy & André Katawazi, NASHUP: “Summertime”
Ikke Hüftgold – Lied mit gutem Text (Eng: A song with good text)
From Fall To Spring: “Draw The Line”
Leslie Clio: “Free Again” (Listen HERE)
Betül: “Heaven”
“Unser Lied für Liverpool” (Eng: our song for Liverpool) will be held on Friday, the 3rd of March 2023 at 22:20 CET.
The host will be the beloved Barbara Schöneberger
The results will be determined by a 50% public vote and a 50% international jury.
40 members from 8 different countries will vote in the German selection .
