ESCBEAT at “Israel Calling 2023” โ€“ Summary and Behind the Scenes!

During the week, Israel hosted a wonderful Eurovision promotional event.
18 delegations enjoyed 2 days of stay in Israel.
They stayed in hotels near the lovely beach of Tel-Aviv:

They were joined by 8 special guests:

  1.  Katrina (Eurovision 1997 winner, UK)
  2.   Israel: Ilanit (Eurovision 1973, Israel) โ€“ The first Israeli representative. This year it will be 50 years since her participation.
  3.   Israel: Shlomit Aharon (Israel 1981, part of โ€œHakol Over Habibiโ€)
  4.   Israel: Mei Finegold (Israel 2014)
  5.  Israel: Imri Ziv (Israel 2017)
  6.   Israel: Eden Alene (Israel 2020, 2021)
  7.  Ireland: Johnny Logan โ€“ Eurovision 1980 and 1987 winner, Ireland 1992 writer
  8.  France: Anne-Marie David โ€“ The singer won Eurovision 1973 as Luxemburgโ€˜s representative and represented France at Eurovision 1979

Gala Night [The Green Carpet]

The host of the show was Imri Ziv, who represented Israel at Eurovision 2017

Thereafter, the delegations have arrived at the carpet one by one:

Flamenco queen from Spain has caught the attention of all the guests :

Not only Blanca, but also Blanka took a flight to Israel:

The phenomenal Israeli singer Noa Kirel attended the party as well:

Moving on to Luke Black (Serbia), who wore it the elegant way:

Former Eurovision star Pasha Parfeni, from Moldova, attended the event with his wife and his iconic flute player:

Some bands joined the party as well and brought their special energy to the event!

Wild Youth (Ireland) prove that after all, we are one:

Let 3 (Croatia) continue their unique style from “Dora”:

The talented energetic guys from Malta put a smile on our faces:

San Marino hopeful Piqued Jacks turned out to be one of the fashion icons of the event:

Vesna from Czechia chose love over power:

Sudden Lights have shed the carpet with their inner indie light:

From one Baltic country to another: It is Monika from Lithuania:

Completing the Baltic line-up is Alika from Estonia:

Twins Tural and Turan attend their first pre-party:

Last but not least it is Iru from Georgia, reminding us that life is love

Tree Planting

As part of the important message of saving our planet, the production wanted each one of the artists to leave a souvenir in Israel – A tree named after their name.
The artists arrived to the Ben Shemen forest, where they have been guided by the KKL representaitves.

The Show

Hosting the show were Dafna Dekel and Sigal Shachmon.
Both were part of the trio who hosted Eurovision 1999 in Jerusalem

The spectacular show took place at the Tel Aviv Port, in the Hangar 11 venue.
The full show will be broadcast on Saturday.
