Sweden Wins “OGAE Second Chance 2023”

The annual “OGAE Second Chance 2023″ was also held this year.
Each year since 1987, Eurovision fan clubs that belong to the OGAE network vote for their favorite national final songs that haven’t got the opportunity to shine on the Eurovision stage.

This year, 23 OGAE clubs competed in the “Second Chance” contest.
OGAE members voted for the songs and determined the results.

23 entries were chosen among the countries that held a national selection for Eurovision 2023 (that’s why, counties like Israel, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Austria, and more won’t be part of the line-up).

The final results are:

  8. 🇪🇪 Estonia – OLLIE – “Venom (112 points)
  9. 🇺🇦 Ukraine – Jerry Heil – “When God Shut The Door (89 points)
  10. 🇵🇱 Poland – Jann – “Gladiator (84 points)
  11. 🇦🇱 Albania – Elsa Lila – “Evita (49 points)
  12. 🇩🇪​​ Germany – Will Church – “Hold On (48 points)

  19. 🇷🇴 Romania – Andreea D Folclor Orchestra – “Perinita Mea (10 points)
  20. 🇨🇿 Czechia – RODAN – “Introvert Party Club (7 points)
  21. 🇮🇸 Iceland– Langi Seli og Skuggarnir – “OK (4 points)
  22. 🇲🇹 Malta – Ryan Hilli – “In The Silence (1 point)
  23. 🇱🇻 Latvia – 24.Avenija – “You Said (0 points)

Therefore, Marcus & Martinus won “OGAE Second Chance 2023″ with their “Melodifestivalen 2023” ertry “Air“.

This marked the 19th victory for Sweden in the contest.

OGAE Rest of the World could have chosen any song from a country without a local OGAE club that held a national selection.
This year, the choice was between songs from Moldoa’s and San Marino’s selections.

Last year, Sweden won “OGAE Second Chance 2022“.
The country was represented by MEDINA – “In i dimman”:
