In October, Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO announced its intention to hold a national selection for Eurovision 2024.
The submission window closes on the 16th of November 2023.
Around 100 songs were submitted for the selection process.
In the first phase, a local expert jury assessed the songs and chose 5 of them to advance for the next round.
In the second phase, an international jury evaluated the songs and the Slovene act for Eurovision 2024 has been chosen!

RTV SLO organized a special press conference at SNG Opera and Ballet in Ljubljana, and revealed the identity of the Slovene act for Eurovision 2024:
Raiven will represent the country at Eurovision 2024. Her song “Veronika” will be performed in the Slovenian language and will be released on the 20th of January 2024.
The live premiere will be broadcast as part of the “Misija Malmö“ on the 20th of January 2024.
The story of Veronika Deseniška and her supposed witchcraft are well known in Slovenia, and this song continues Raiven’s quest to explore the stories of iconic women from various historical eras;
The singer commented:
Representing Slovenia at Eurovision is a stepping stone I envision for my career’s progression. When I told my mother I was going to Eurovision, she said she knew I would be standing on that stage one day. She knew it since the first time we were watching this music spectacle together – I was five years old.’
