Australia received a special invitation to take part in Eurovision in 2015.
The Australian broadcaster has cast the show for many years before, building the local Eurovision base faithfully.
Thereafter, the country has been invited to the contest each year by the reference group.
The situation changed in February 2019, when the EBU offered 5 years contract that guarantees Australia’s participation at Eurovision.
