EBU Reveals Eurovision 2024 Engagement Figures

To sum up the Eurovision 2024 season, the EBU released the numbers behind the biggest music show in the world.
Overall, it seems this year’s contest was quite popular and reached a lot of people across different media channels and digital platforms.

Statistics show that Eurovision 2024 engaged more people, compared to the previous edition.

  • Around 163 million people watched at least one of the shows via public media services, (162 million in 2023, and 161 million in 2022). 42 million views came through YouTube
  • A record share of youth viewers! The viewing share among 15-24 years old, was around 58.6%.
  • The TikTok hashtag #Eurovision2024 reached 6.5 billion views (1.7 billion more than in 2023)
  • TikTok related content reached more than 500 million accounts.
  • As for Sunday the 12th of May, the Eurovision 2024 Spotify playlist is the leading one globally.
  • View share of the Grand Final was 46.7% – the highest share since 2006. almost 3 times more than the average viewing share in general.
  • People from 156 different countries voted this year (12 countries more than 2023)
  • The countries that cast the majority of votes out of the Rest of The World are: USA, Canada, Romania, Mexico, UAE, Türkiye, South Africa, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria

Participating Counties Viewship

  • Germany: 8.1 million viewers (the highest)
  • UK: 7.7 million viewers (the second highest)
  • France: 5.4 million viewers
  • Iceland achieved the highest viewing share in (96%), followed by: Sweden (87.3%), Norway (85.5%), Finland (83.1%), Croatia (73.2%) and Lithuania (70.2%).
  • Croatia demonstrated their highest view share since 2006.
  • Greece achieved the highest number of viewers since 2011, with around 2.8 people watching the contest.
  • 650K people watched the contest in Ireland: The biggest audience since 2013.
  • 252K people watched the contest in Latvia: The biggest audience since 2007.
  • Around 723K people watched the contest from Switzerland – 40% more than in 2023.
