On the 4th of August 2024, Ictimati TV, the national broadcaster of Azerbaijan, opened the submission window for Eurovision 2025.
The deadline to submit the songs was 15th September 2024.
Today, Ictimati TV revealed that a total of 154 songs have been sent during the submission period. This time, 49% of the entries were written by local composers and lyricists.
Last time, only 43% of the songs were written by Azeri composers and lyricists.
At the moment, a professional jury group is working on shortlisting the songs.
The song and the artist for Eurovision 2025 will probably be selected internally (and possibly in multiple rounds).

Will Azerbaijan finally qualify for the final?
The country didn’t qualify for the final in 2023 and 2024.
While in 2022. the country qualified for the final with 0 points from the public (thanks to the jury support).
Fahree ft. Ilkin represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2024 with the song “Özünlə Apar”.
They finished in 14th place with 11 points in semi-final 1, failing to qualify for the final.
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
