Rai will broadcast “Sanremo Giovani 2024“, as part of the “Festival di Sanremo” project
Each year, the competition gives an opportunity for newcomers in the Italian music industry to get better exposure.
A few of them get an opportunity to participate in the well known “Festival di Sanremo”.
The host of “Sanremo Giovani 2024” will be former Eurovision host, Alessandro Cattelan.
Rai received 564 submissions for this edition: 290 songs rom male singers, 239 from female singers and 35 from groups.
This year demonstrated an increase in the share of submissions from female singers.
The professional committee, chaired by Carlo Conti, selected 46 artists to proceed to the next round:

“Sanremo Giovani 2024” Format
- On the 23rd of October, the 46 artists will be invited to live auditions. 24 of them will qualify for the elimination round.
- The “elimination rounds” will take place over 4 episodes and will be broadcast on Tuesdays: 12th, 19thm 26th of November and the 3rd of December 2024.
- 8 artists will participate in each of the “elimination rounds”, 3 of them will qualify for the semi-final.
- The semi-final will be held on the 10th of December, featuring 12 emerging artists. 6 of them will qualify for the final.
- The “Sanremo Giovani 2024” final will be held on Wednesday, the 18th of December. the 6 semi-finalists, joined by 2 additional artists (“Area Sanremo”), will compete for 4 spots in the “Newcomers” category in “Sanremo 2024″.
Angelina Mango represented Italy at Eurovision 2024 with “La Noia“.
She ended in 7th place with 268 points:
