As reported, Estonia will choose its Eurovision 2025 entry via the traditional selection “Eesti Laul 2025”.
ERR announced that 175 songs were submitted to the national selection.
A jury panel consisting of 34 members: musicians, songwriters, former Eurovision participants, journalists and representatives from the TV and the radio.



Among the jury members, we have found: Alika (Eurovision 2023), Jüri Pootsmann (Eurovision 2016), Tanja Mihhailova-Saar (Eurovision 2014), Kohver (Eurovision 2024), Sven Lõhmus (Writer of Eurovision and “Eesti Laul” songs), Mihkel Mattisen (Estonian composer), Maian Kärmas (Eurovision backing-singer) and more.
The jury ended up selecting 15 entries for the “Eesti Laul 2025” final. An additional song will be selected by the public.
The 15 chosen finalists will be revealed in 2 parts, on Monday (the 4th of November 2024) and on Tuesday (The 5th of November 2024).
The songs will be released on the 6th of December 2024.
As a surprise, ERR has already revealed the first finalist:

“Eesti Laul 2025” – Known Details

- This time, “Eesti Laul” will include one show only. This means the selection won’t feature semi-finals.
- The final will be held on Saturday, the 15th of February 2025.
- A professional committee of 35 members chose 15 songs to participate in the national selection.
- The 15 chosen artists will be announced in November and the songs will be released on the 6th December 2024 (alongside music videos)
- An additional song will be chosen as a wild-card by the public vote. This song will be revealed in January 2025.
- Each artist, composer, or writer can submit up to 5 songs.
- The results of the selection will be determined in 2 rounds:
- The results of the 1st round will be based on a 50% international jury and a 50% public vote. The top 3 songs will qualify for the super-final.
- In the super-final, the results will be based on the public vote only.
- A total of 175 songs were submitted to the selection:
- 65 of the songs are in the Estonian language
- 110 of the songs are in Foreign language: English, Italian, German and French.
- Among the artists, one can find both passionately loved Estonian singers as well as new and exciting surprises, solo artists and major music groups
- This year’s regulations were adjusted in the view of the authors to give Estonian creators a more flexible opportunity for international cooperation than before. Writers from Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, The Netherlands, Finland, Croatia, Denmark and Austria, Malta, Turkey, USA, and the UK contributed to the contest.

5Miinust & Puuluup represented Estonia at Eurovision 2024 with the song “(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi”.
They finished in 20th place with 37 points
Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th and 17th of May 2025
