We are about to enjoy an exciting night (or Super Saturday) of national selection for Eurovision 2025. 7 countries will broadcast live shows tonight: Estonia, Norway, Lithuania, and Italy will select their entries for Basel, while Sweden, Germany, and Iceland will broadcast the semi-finals of their national selections.

The Format

  1. This time, “Eesti Laul” will include one show only. This means the selection won’t feature semi-finals.
  2. Eda-Ines Etti and Korea will host the final, at Unibet Arena.
  3. The results of the selection will be determined in 2 rounds:
    • The results of the 1st round will be based on a 50% international jury and a 50% public vote. The top 3 songs will qualify for the super-final.
    • In the super-final, the results will be based on the public vote only.

The Format

  1. Melodi Grand Prix 2025 will be held at the Oslo Spektrum (the same venue where Eurovision 1996 took place)
  2. 9 artists will compete in the selection.
  3. Marte Stokstad, Tete Lidbom, and Markus Neby will host the show. Marte hosted the “Melodi Grand Prix” in 2012.
  4. The results will be based on 40% international jury votes and 60% public vote.

The special guests performers will be Marcus & Martinus and Gåte

The Format

  1. Gabrielė Martirosian, Nombeko Augustė and Rimvydas Černiauskas.
  2. The final will occur in Lithuania’s largest arena: Kaunas “Žalgiris”.
  3. The results of the final will be determined in 2 rounds:
    • Round 1: The national jury will rank the entries on a scale of 1-8, 10, and 12 points. The 2 lowest scores will get 0. The public vote will be converted to the same scale. The top 3 entries will qualify for the super-final.
    • Round 2: The public will vote for their winner out of the top 3 super-finalists.

The special guest performers will be Rokas Jan, Monika Liu, Vaidas Baumila and Silvester Belt

The Format

  1. Carlo Conti will be the main host, alongside Alessandro Cattelan and Alessia Marcuzzi.
  2. All participants will perform their songs.
  3. The results will be based on the average ranking of the first 3 nights and the final night (based on 100% public votes)
  4. The Top 5 artists (based on the combined ranking of nights 1-3 and night 5, based on jury and public) will advance to the super final.
  5. The super-finalists will perform their songs again.
  6. The results of the super-final will be based on a 34% public vote, a 33% professional jury vote, and a 33% radio jury vote.

    • Semi-Final 3: Saturday 15th of February 2025, Västerås (Västerås Arena)

  3. A public vote will determine the results of the semi-finals
  4. 6 artists will take part in each semi-final. The top 2 will qualify for the final.
  5. The artists who finish in the 4th, 5th, and 6th place (in each semi-final) will be eliminated.
  6. At the end of the 5th semi-final,
  7. The highest-scoring 3rd-place song (out of a possible 5) will get a ticket to the final
  8. The remaining 4 artists will face additional voting rounds. The winner will qualify for the final.

The Format

  1. Benedikt Valsson, Guðrún Dís Emilsdóttir and Fannar Sveinsso will host the shows.
  2. The national selection will feature 3 shows:
    • Semi-Final 1: Saturday, February 8th 2025
    • Semi-Final 2: Saturday, February 15th 2025
    • Grand Final: Saturday, February 22nd 2025
  3. The shows will be held in RVK Studios in Gufunes.
  4. 5 artists will perform in each semi-final, 3 of them will qualify (based on 100% public vote)
  5. In the semi-finals, all artists will perform their songs in Icelandic.
  6. 6 artists will compete in the final. The grand final results will be determined by one round only, composed of a 50% jury vote (featuring 7 international members) and a 50% public vote.
  7. The main changes compared to previous years are:
    • No wildcards will be given to one of the semi-final non-qualifiers
    • The number of finalists increased from 5 to 6
    • The “super-final” has been cancelled.
  8. Thomas Benstem and Selma Björnsdóttir will be the artistic directors of the contest.

Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland on the 13th, 15th, and 17th of May 2025
