EBU: Changes in the Eurovision Reference Group Members

Earlier this week, the EBU organized its annual TV committee meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
During the meeting, the TV committee representatives voted for new members of the Eurovision Reference Group.
The changes in the group will start effectively in June 2025 (just after Eurovision 2025 will end).

Ana Maria Bordas (Spain) will be the new chairperson. She will take the place of Bakel Walden from Switzerland. Ana was the Executive Producer of the latest edition of Junior Eurovision, which was held in Spain. As part of her work at RTVE, she oversees Entertainment, Factual, Kids & Young Audiences, and New Formats 

Ana Maria commented:

“I am honored and excited to take on the role of Chair of the Reference Group from June. It’s a privilege to follow in Baker’s footsteps, and I’m eager to build on the great work that has already been achieved. I look forward to working with the team to develop actions to reinforce the ESC brand and ensure that all delegations feel more involved and engaged in our work”

3 additional members were elected as well:

  • Claudia van der Pas (The Netherlands) – Claudia is the new Dutch Head of the Eurovision Delegation. She was the assistant to the Dutch Head of Delegation between 2022 and 2024. She is in charge of Events at AVROTROS (Dutch broadcaster). In 2021, she was the Delegation Manager.
  • Carla Bugalho (Portugal) – She has been Portugal’s Head of Delegation since 2015. In 2018, she was the Executive Producer of Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon. Carla is a senior producer at RTP. This is the 3rd time she has been elected to be part of the group
  • Molly Plank (Denmark) – Molly has been the Danish Head of Delegation for 13 years. She is a Production Manager in DR, who was responsible for organizing the national selection – “Dansk Melodi Grand Prix”

Therefore, the members of the Eurovision Reference Group are:

  • Ana Maria Bordas (Spain)
  • Martin Österdahl (EBU)
  • Ebba Adielsson (Sweden)
  • Rachel Ashdown (UK)
  • Felix Bergsson (Iceland)
  • Carla Bugalho (Portugal)
  • Moritz Stadler (Switzerland)
  • Tomislav Stengl (Crotaia)
  • Alexandra Wolfslast (Germany)

About the Eurovision Reference Group

The Eurovision Reference Group is the governmental body of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The group is established by its TV committee and it is in charge of:

  • Development and format of the contest
  • Oversee the annual preparations for each year’s contest
  • Keep the Eurovision brand modern
  • Raising awareness of the contest
  • Securing financial resources to fulfill the contest



Eurovision 2025 will be held in Basel, Switzerland, on the 13th, 15th, and 17th of May 2025.
