San Marinese broadcaster San Marino RTV is shaping plans for Eurovision 2026.
The selection process will consist of two separate selections:
- “Dreaming San Marino 2026” – Preliminary selection
- “San Marino Song Contest 2026” – Main selection
Recently, some more details regarding the format and regulations of “Dreaming San Marino 2026” have been revealed
“Dreaming San Marino 2026”

- The submission window opened on October 24th, 2025 and will close on January 20th, 2026.
- Everyone is welcome to apply, regardless their nationality.
- Applications will be made online here
- The participation fee for artists outside of San Marion is $150 (and $50 for local artists).
- Each artist is required to submit 2 entries eligible for Eurovision (an unreleased song or a song released after September 1st, the performer is at least 16 years old, and so on)
- Casting days:
- The eligible applicants will be invited to the casting day, where they will perform in front of a jury panel.
- The casting days will be held on November 20th, 21st, and on December 17th – 20th. Additional casting days will be announced later on.
- The next phase will be the Stage and Live Academy, where around 240 singers will compete. Each of them will compete with one song only. The phase will be composed of 8 sessions, with 30 singers at each. In each session, the jury will select 5 artists to qualify.
- “Dreaming San Marino” will conclude with 40 artists proceeding to “San Marino Song Contest”
“San Marino Song Contest 2026”

- The contest will feature 2 semi-finals and a grand final.
- The 40 qualifiers of “Dreaming San Marino 2026” will compete in the 2 semi-finals, which will be held on March 3rd and 4th, 2026.
- 20 artists will compete in each semi-final, and 5 of them will qualify for the final, based on the jury vote.
- 20 artists will compete in the final: 10 qualifiers from the semi-finals, and 10 established artists (who will automatically qualify for the final).
- The grand final of “San Marino Song Contest 2026” will take place on Saturday, March 7th.
Gabry Ponte represented San Marino in Eurovision 2025
He performed “Tutta L’Italia” and ended 26th (last) in the final
Eurovision 2026 will be held in Vienna, Austria, on May 12th, 14th, and 16th, 2026.
