Belgium: RTBF Confirms Eurovision 2026 Participation

The Belgian national broadcaster, RTBF (Belgian Radio and Television of the French Community) confirmed the country will participate in Eurovision 2026 in Vienna

The statement was published in various social media channels:

The participation of the RTBF in the Competition is accompanied by a commitment and a clear position, “No cultural festival, no international event, can conceal the absolute necessity to protect citizens and informers in conflict zones”

RTBF explained its decision, stating that it is participating “as a public service broadcaster that must ensure its listeners and artists have access to a cultural competition.”

Media Minister Jacqueline Galant reacted following the decision taken by RTBF:
“True to the position I have always defended in Parliament, I welcome the decision of RTBF, aligned with the broad democratic majority expressed within the EBU“.
