A record number of 491 songs were submitted to “UMK 2026“, just 6 more compared to “UMK 2025″.
The professional committee listened to the songs and shortlisted 7 of them to participate in the show.
The Finnish broadcaster YLE has revealed the list of 7 finalists, as part of a live broadcast.
The show was hosted by Jasmin Beloued (“UMK 2025” host), alongside Eva Frantz, BESS, Samuli Väänänen, and Tapio Hakanen.

“UMK 2026” – Known Details
- “UMK 2026” will be held on February 28th, 2026, in Nokia Arena in Tampere.
- A combination of an international jury and public vote will select the “UMK 2026” winner. Based on previous years, the ratio is expected to be 75% public and 25% jury vote.
- The 7 songs will be revealed between January 15th and 23rd, 2026, at midnight (excluding weekends):

- Komiat – Monday, January 19th, 2026
- Sinikka Monte – Tuesday, January 20th, 2026

Finland will compete in semi-final 1 of Eurovision 2026 (on May 12th, 2026).
The country is allocated to perform in the first half of the show.
Eurovision 2026 will be held in Vienna, Austria, on May 12th, 14th, and 16th, 2026.
