Iceland is getting ready for Söngvakeppnin 2019.
he Icelandic broadcast RUV will announced on Saturday (20.45 CET) the 10 entries will partici[ate this year contest.
There will be 2 semi-finals before the grand final on March 2nd. 5 songs will compete in each semi, and the top2 that will win the combination of the public and jury experts will qualify for the grand final. In the final, we will meet 4 (or 5, for a potential wildcard) entries that will battle a ticket to represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The songs will be released both in English and Icelandic versions on the official site, YouTube, and the digital platforms.
the show dates are:
- February 8th – A warm-up show for Semi-Final 1 (19.40 on RÚV 1)
- February 9th – Söngvakeppnin 2019 – Semi-Final 1 (19.45 on RÚV 1)
- February 15th – A warm-up show for Semi-Final 2 (19.40 on RÚV 1)
- February 16th – Söngvakeppnin 2019 – Semi-Final 2 (19.45 on RÚV 1)
- March 2nd – Söngvakeppnin 2019 – Final (19.45 on RÚV 1)A

RUV is planning for us a spectacular show this year, including LED screens and the latest audio techniques. Ari Ólafsson who represented Iceland last year will perform on the grand final together with another foreign Eurovision star still remain secret.
